2012 Red Tacoma TRD

I have a 2012 Tacoma and tried putting in the switchback LED in my DRL. They only go white when my headlights are on otherwise stay yellow. I am under the impression that they should be white all the time unless using the turn signal. Did I buy the wrong bulb application or they don’t work with my truck. DRL are always on and can’t turn off.
