I guess it's the light spread that bothers me on anything non-OEM. How do they manage to get it appear like it's light evenly and not a gradient for OEM?

I thought about 3d printing a divider between the two leds to solve this very problem. Im super ocd and the light spread bothers me as well.

I'm not taking a picture that will look different at every angle just like the stock switches, sheesh, but I got their OE matched "Garage" pushbutton.

    It looks like it's stock.

Take a picture of the sun where you are. I wanna see if it's different here.

    That's not OCD.

OCD people are driven to make it right themselves, believing no one else can/will make it right for them. They'll devote 100 hours and 100s of dollars to make a $20 part look like the $30 part. It's called a disorder for a reason.

Your disorder is known as "spoiled rotten". Its characterized by statements of the form 'I don't like that X. Someone should make an X that I like.'

And yours is an apparently irresistible urge to be a dickhead. Seems to be a common affliction these days bordering on epedemic proportions.

Ocd has nothing to do with a dollar amount. I make things the way I want them when no one else does. I'd be perfectly content to buy it that way.

Paint the inside of the button between the illuminated areas black. You can even the illumination of the lettering by either bending the leads of the led to move it further back or sanding the rounded end flat(that round surface actually focusses it to a narrower beam).

What's the measurement of the switch panel hole in the truck? That website lists the face surface size of the switch as 1.54" x 0.83" (39 mm x 21 mm) but doesn't list the hole dimensions.

I have a 1st gen with some unused switch panels and would be cool if the switch hole dimensions were the same.

Edit: my opening is 43mm tall x 25mm wide so I think that if the face of these switches is smaller than my opening, i may not be able to use 'em

Truth is always a personal attack, huh.

That epidemic you speak of might as easily be explained by a mistaken belief in a Right To Never Be Offended that does not, never did, and never will exist.

These switches are for people who think it’s hilarious to wear FBI shirts that say Female Breast Inspector.

Ill mannered mannered behavior isn’t truth, just weakness of character.
A coward can’t resist the urge to run either. It doesn’t change the truth that we have urges but civilization depends on being able to resist counterproductive ones. The internet has presented you with the opportunity to say what pleases you. What you choose to do with that opportunity says more about you than anyone else.

You would use the taller switches. The Toyota small push switch is the one in dsim’s pics not the taller one.

We were, until someone had an urge. The current large switch openings are 22mm x 41mm so the taller switches would fit in first gens.

@Apollo14 couldn't resist asking, what does the FLUX CAPACITOR switch activate? I am prepared to sign a NDA, if applicable.

Old post I know but the answer is by bending the led leads so that the led is farther from the switch front and allows the light from it to spread out enough to backlight all the lettering or image. You can scuff frost the tip of the led as well. The other part of it is that oem is much dimmer to begin with so there’s no hot spot. You can further alter the tint by putting different tapes in front of the led to make it warmer.
