Should I replace all of my fluids with synthetic? My Taco has 700 miles on it.

Could I do the work myself, using standard tools with no jacks/ lifts, except for a wheel ramps.

Changing the engine oil is simple, but can I do the others like the differential fluid?

Basically I am asking if I can do the work myself...

I am not asking about the benefits, just trying to avoid the labor charges.

You can change to synthetics anytime you want.

You can do all the work yourself, and you don't have to jack up the truck at all.

Yes, you can do all the other oils yourself. Lots of people do it themselves, including myself.

Yup, are there any stickeys or write ups on changing fluids, besides engine oil?

Yeah thats what I am going to do. When are you going to make the switch. My brother said wait till 5,000 miles as well as Toyota.

I was going to switch at 3,000, but I am not sure that the engine will be broken in enough then.

I didn't know we needed to wait till 5k! I was going to do it myself at 3000 to 4000. I don't do a-lot of hard driving, mostly non commute times but Im just eager to make the switch and will probably hit 6 m0nths before 5k. I guess I will make the change at 5k or 6 months what ever comes first.

    getting there....
you can switch then.....motor is broken in after around a thousand miles or so. after around 10 to 15k.....its really broken in, then you'll start seeing mileage increase, just a little, but every bit counts.
