80 degrees today, washed and waxed, Eagles are beating the SNOT out of Dallas, I'm leading my Yahoo Pick-em league (could win $400), what a wonderful day. :D

Oil change next weekend or maybe New Years day. I did notice that PP has now gone up in price at WalMart from $19/5qts to $23. Mobil also went up from $23 to $26. They were both in stock at least but the thing that gets me is how much oil has gone down yet these prices are still up. Oh well, at least it helps my Exxon-Mobil stock.

I use Penzoil Platinum. If I can't find it, then M1.

Well I just got back from Wal-mart...was about to buy some Mobil 1 - 5L jug for $41 - but then I noticed a 4.4L jug of Pennzoil Platinum for only $21. Sweet deal if you ask me!

I usually run M1, but like everyone else, Walmart was all out so I went with Castrol Syntec this last oil change.

I put Mobil1 10W-30 full synthetic in my Mazda3 and notice jack crap difference.
The damn thing's slow no matter what, that's why I'm working on picking up a Tacoma! TRD Sport FTW!

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
Tacoholic, Mobil 1 or any syn is not going to improve your vehicle other than increased protection for the engine. Speed wise the only way to increase performance is the tried and true methods. The engine is an air pump, more air in and out and you get increased performance. More air in, means a change in having a better intake and exhaust system as well as an adjustment in spark and fuel delivery, via your on board computer.
No question that Mazda or other tuners can provide you with 30-50 horsepower, just thru add ons.
Mobil 1 or any syn will help protect the engine at higher rpms and increased load.

As far as Mobil 1 price wise, no question $41 per 5 qts, even in Canadian $$$ is a bit more than down in the lower 48. Not sure what the exchange rate is.
Our WalMarts raised there prices on Mobil 1 from $ 21 per 5qts to $26, while other syn's stayed the same price.
I usually change my oil twice a year and buy just enough for our two cars , along with their oil filters.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
Honestly, I just use the cheapest dino oil I can find. I have used Amsoil only because our racing group gets a nice discount. But if you have an older truck with loads of miles on it, its probably better to use regular oil since the synthetic stuff seems to blow by a lot easier. I ran Amsoil in my 200k+ truck and it used more oil than when it ran regular oil.

Yes that is true , it is, in general, not recommended to put syn oil in a high mileage vehicle, that has not had syn oil in it over its lifetime.
For the most part many of the forum members are dealing with low mileage/new vehicles ....

I have used Mobil 1 for years, currently switching everything to Pennzoil based on cost, availablility, and analysis data.

I run straight 30W I drain out of my my tractor when it gets old.

    Just kidding!:D
I use Amsoil since it's a hair cheaper for me than Mobil 1. A lot easier to get currently since Mobil 1 is in shortage. I'll run either.

I used to put a strong magnet duct taped to the oil filter on previous vehicles. I don't any longer. Maybe I don't care anymore, or I'm just lazy. Like Jeff said, Not really a big deal anymore.

True. It made it idle smoother because of the thicker oil but other than that I didn't notice any difference and didn't/don't expect to. It's a small I4 so being underpowered is what it does and how it shall live...just with somebody else when I sell it. muahaha!!

I use Schaeffer 7000 - check them out at Schaefferoil.com. Outstanding products and cheaper than alot of the other synthetics out there. Will change out ATF and Diff soon with their stuff.

Motorcycle consumer news which I believe No longer publishes a magazine did an independent study years ago. Mobil 1 came out on top. Also if Tacoma owners didn't already know stay away from Fram oil filters.

I use Amsoil but if you dont wanna spend that kind of dough then Id go with Mobil1. Its almost as good as AMSoil and its easier to find.
