I'm having some crazy thoughts tonight. Maybe it's the beer but I'm really tempted to jack my brother in laws LT set up. He has to sell his tacoma and I really want to replace my lift for his LT SAW lift. Only thing is his whole set up needs to be rebuilt. Might cost a bit but I could get the set up for the cost of the rebuild. I would need to source some stock fenders for his truck as well. Just not sure it's worth my time or if he/his mom would be into it. Thoughts?

If he'd be down for a deal and you have the ability for a rebuild then I'd say go for it for sure.

I don't really care what he says haha since its his mom (my mother in law) who is getting the money. The state it's in it needs too much work to fetch any real good amount. I'd make the deal that I would sell the truck and swap the parts and she would get all the money. She told me that she would pay me to sell it for him but I can't take money from her. I figure it would be easier to sell as a lifted or stock truck than a LT front only truck that needs work.

Just not sure I want to go LT yet since its a lot of $ to do right. Although I'd just want it for the extra travel not to jump at all.

Ha ha but you know once you have it your going to be tempted to jump right. LT is a serious investment of money for sure. For me to go LT just on the front I will be into it almost 8k ad then the rear is gonna be almost 6.5k. Might be worth it though it if it is just bushings and what nots

I'm really thinking of getting this 4runner and fixing it up. She said $500 for it but i think i can get it for $450. I would drop a used 3.4 in and swap all my lift and tires to it. Basically bring my 4runner back to stock and sell it. That would give me about 7.5k to pay off some bills and look for a commuter car. I can drive my dads girlfriends car till January since they are gone. I'm just tired of driving my 4runner as my main dd and getting crap mileage. Also I would rather have a dedicated wheeling rig and something not as nice as mine right now. Good idea?

She got back to me and said she can do $425. Also I have a feeling the motor might not be totally bust. She said it kept dying at stop lights so she got it towed home. Then she tried again and got a grinding noise. I feel like it could be a starter issue or bad ground. Maybe some loose spark plug wires, plugs or boots. Now to convince my Fiance it's worth it.

They are long but the easiest way to figure it out is call them and have them take a compressed length. Then get under your rig and unbolt the bottom bolt for the shock and them push it up and see how long it is. I know our tears aren't that long really but I could tell you what the length of my ext bilsteins are tomorrow

Thanks man. I think 10" travel is pushing it but crazydubman is running extended length saws for a 4th gen.

Still trying to talk my fiancé into getting the 4runner. If I do I'm going all out. 35's and off road ready.

It would be sweet man. So then you would supercharge that and it would be a beast for sure. I know 10" is getting dangerously close to too long but then again you have limits to you suspension anyway front the links. Too long and you can kiss up travel goodbye.

If I could get the engine running if debate it. Otherwise I'd sell the sc to fund some maintenance and more armor. It would be a wheeling rig so no need for the extra power.

Oh yeah your no go fast lol

so the engine just makes a grinding noise?? yeah your probably looking at either alternator or plugs honestly. But as well the fuel pump was replaced too so it could be something to do with that. Probably wouldn't take that much to get it going
