    Hi Everyone,

I installed my tachometer in my 97 tacoma 4cyl the tach signal is on and reading perfect the only thing I dont have connected is the illumination wire (color white wire) from the tachometer. Does anyone know how to connect that wire to the light switch on the truck ? Any tips or advice would be great.

    Thanks

    J

Be careful not to do something and pop a fuse or other wise damage your truck

Get a Volt ohm meter (VOM)

    Turn on the headlights

Use a pointed VOM probe to lightly poke thru the insulation on wires you suspect are hot when the headlights are on until you find 12V

Turn off the headlights make sure the 12V goes away

Splice into this wire to power the light on the tach.

A trailer wire splice kit is available at the auto store, or splice the wires together, solder and tape the connection with Scotch 33 elec tape
