Has anyone done this on a non tilt column? I'm not able to find any info and would hate to rip everything apart just to find that its not possible.

Copied from this thread Non-tilt columns.
The entire assembly, tube and shaft needs to come out. The steering wheel needs to come off to expose a single snap ring holding the main shaft in the tube. With the snap ring removed the main shaft should come out the bottom end of the tube. Hence the need to have the entire thing removed.
