Just injector #6 was replaced. Link to thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hard-starting-with-warm-engine.479556/

Looking at different references on line to "hot soak" or "heat soak" related to fuel injectors, it seems that short trip driving with an injector subject to heat can cause deposits on the injector that detergents in gas can't clean off, resulting in the injector acting up. Some on my thread said they experienced the same starting issue, but it went away by itself...maybe the gas detergent was able to clean them. Just speculating. But whatever the cause, a new vehicle should not have these problems. So far, the fix on mine seems to be working...no more starting problems.

The #6 injector apparently was a bitch to replace because of its location and all the crap they had to remove to get at it. The dealer, with input from Toyota Techline, reserved 4.5 hours for the job.

Good luck, hope your problem gets fixed ASAP.

I'm betting your problem is the CPS, not the injectors.

I am curious of that too, if they possibly misdiagnosed and its the CPS.

I seriously hope the CPS does not turn into an issue for 17s also.

Yes, and all of us who have put confidence in the "new" version of the CPS have to wonder again if it too is problematic.

Just spoke with the dealership again and my truck is still not ready. They have had it since Thursday night and are now saying it will be late tomorrow before they are done. Apparently they don't have the tool needed to replace the injector and are waiting on it to be delivered tomorrow morning. Ridiculous!!

They are checking it for the rear differential leak while it is there and if found they are going to keep it until God knows when because Toyota hasn't provided a fix yet. Praying it doesn't have a leak because I am going through withdraw from not being able to drive my truck.

Not surprised on the tool really - I've seen a copy of the service manual and it seems like many things call out special tools. At least the were able to diagnose it, that seems like 95% of the battle these days IMO.

I asked about the CPS Sensor and the dealership told me they provided a report to Toyota and Toyota told them what was wrong. Seems to me like the technician working on the truck should have some part in determining what the issue. But with as electronically complicated as vehicles are these days this might be the best method. Just seems like there is a better/faster way. We are on day 5 of them having my truck at this point.

Well, the dealership has had my truck for 8 days now and after talking with the service manager last night they don't know whats wrong with it. Very encouraging. They replaced the failed direct injector but the check engine light is still on and they don't know why. Toyota Corporate is requesting additional data to assist in determining what else is wrong.

Never imagined I would have to deal with something like this when I bought by Taco 4 months ago.

Just crawl under there and lube the pivot points with Disc Brake Grease, even the 3rd Gens still have this problem and that will clear it up

I asked them about this again last night and their response was, "We are waiting on Toyota Corporate to get back to us on their findings"!!
