What Jeep configuration did you get? We’re gonna want a full report on it after you’ve gotten to know it

2019 Wrangler Sport "S" Unlimited (which means 4 door), 6 spd manual, 6 cylinder. Maybe a step slower than the 4 banger turbo. But I'm not willing to go with a new Fiat engine. It sounded expensive to fix. I think the 6 cylinder is Chrysler's minivan engine...so it has about a billion shitty test miles on it already.

To each his own ($). We dumped my wife's Jeep JKU after just 12k miserable roof leaking recall dealer visiting crap for over a year.
Piece of shit. Overpriced and quality of an Aries K car from the 1980's Chrysler Iacoka sp.? :)

I think reliability and durability go hand-in-hand, especially for truck ownership.

If a truck is truly going to be deemed "durable" it has to have the ability to take a beating and keep on working reliably. FCA vehicles, to include Jeeps, are certainly capable when they are working, but they don't have the best reputation for working reliably over the long run. 2 solid axles, front and rear lockers, traditional transfer case unit with very low gearing...FCA has the tried-and-true formula down with its Jeep and its 2500/3500's...but if the damn things keep having malfunctions or troubles, then its all for naught in my view.

Life is too short...that's why I don't buy vehicles that waste my time.

Forbes reprints the same crap every year which they get handed over by Consumer Reports. I trust Forbes’s automotive expertise like I trust Toyota’s expertise making hotdogs.

As others have already said, you made the jump, now find away enjoy it. You have three years to have fun.

    Good luck.

That’s a good looking Jeep. Congrats!

Sahara is their best selling trim level. It’s where offroad meets comfort in the Wrangler lineup. It is still a very capable off-roader. Don’t let those Bridgestone tires fool you.

I had a 2015 Sahara with KO2s and a rear LSD; It could do some pretty gnarly stuff with it.

The 3.8 minivan engine was replaced in 2012 with the 3.6 “Pentastar” V6. There was an initial batch with head issues but that was addressed right away. It’s now a proven engine.

I don’t see the benefit of getting the 2.0T either: it costs extra, it adds unnecessary complexity to a vehicle that is supposed to be about simplicity, and it has too many Fiat genes in it...all to get a marginal increase in pick up and MPG.

And that’s the selling point. A few more bucks for FCA. Probably great margins.

I live at altitude and the turbo is quite a bit quicker than the V6. But like I said it will long be gone before power-train warranty expires so wont be my issue down the line. It is already returning 2mpg more than the Taco while being way quicker.

I've had two early 90s YJs, a 99 TJ, an 06 LJ, and a 2013 JK and loved them all. I looked into trading in my 16 TRD OR (our only vehicle at this time), for a Rubicon Gladiator, but then came to my senses. The Taco is paid for so why go into big debt for a vehicle that arguably isn't even as good in many ways, at least as far as reliablity. I will get another Jeep eventually, preferably an older mint condition one like a 70s CJ, (which I'd like to show, and that means it will cost me in the neighborhood of 25-30k), but I won't get rid of the Taco to do it.

That's a CJ, no comparison to the modern jeep in my opinion.
