I have heated seats, Homelink mirror, JBL with Sub and sunroof. I don’t have Fox Shocks or the factory 1” lift. Also in NorCal and the price of EVERY Pro I looked at was MSRP plus 9-10k. No exceptions and I looked over a year before buying a DCLB Off Road Tech/Prem. If I could have gotten a Pro at MSRP I would have sacrificed the long bed and gotten it.

Little bit of this and a little bit of that but stock af.
Did you try Freeman in Santa Rosa? I also put a $500 deposit in stevenscreek to purchase the next one that arrived for msrp. It wasn’t easy as 1 2 3, but definitely possible.

I did. They were unwilling. Tried Vallejo, Napa, SR, Sac, Fairfield (before they closed down) and Vacaville. I called Marin and Salinas and said enough.

Man.... glad I stepped away and missed all this anti-pro drama. :) Its funny, I've had a Sport, an OR, a Baja and now a Pro. I got shit for the Baja, the same old "you wasted your money, should have built your own" story. And I have gotten some shit for the Pro, except for the folks that saw it perform at Jambo. At the end of the day gents, it's your money, and your truck, so get what you want and can afford. If the OR crowd wants to criticize you, tell them to STFU and go buy some more mods. :)

Not sure it came up but pro is only available in a short bed. I need a long bed because I drive a truck.

The Pro was the right vehicle for me for my needs but good luck finding one without a $8k to $10k dealer markup over MSRP here in LA. There were even some 2018's with $5k markup sitting on dealer lots right now in my area.

Seriously? you're going to sit there and tell me they can't waive the markup because they are in "super high demand" while you have 18's sitting on the lot for over 1.5 years you cant sell?

There was some gouging going on in San Antonio as well, and my understanding from the dealer was that Toyota cracked down on that and told dealers to knock it off. I bought mine for a little (very little) under list and got them to throw in a few small goodies to sweeten the deal. Now, used Pro's, both Tacoma and 4Runner are going for ridiculous amounts, more than brand new in some cases. I dont know where you are in Cali, but I wonder if a road trip to Phoenix or Vegas might not score you a much better deal. Hell, even El Paso isnt that much of a stretch from So-Cal.

I live here and was never able to buy local. Your best bet is the Phoenix area.

At the end of the day, you choose what best fits your needs and budget. For me, the off-road model was perfect. The Pro would be 8-10K+ and I can upgrade mine to be better over time. I like the pro grille though but that was an easy install. Tacoma's hold its value but I will say, the Pros seem to do little better.

Drive up I-5 to Western Washington. We have Pro's sitting on lots selling for less than MSRP all over the place.

Toyota of Puyallup has three of them, 1 white and 2 black.

The white one is going for $42K and it is a MT.

The two black ones are going for $44K.

I like all the Tacomas however the Pro is a sweet ride. But no long bed or my preferred color I opted for a Sport, added heated leather, speaker upgrades, remote start, homelink mirror, Bilstein lift and Trd pro 4r sema wheels, TRD CAI and Pro exhause I got what I want. I'm still cheaper than a Pro and the Pro can be bought here in Va. below invoice.

At the time I was shopping for a Pro they were either over or at MSRP. Freeman Toyota was willing to sell me their White 2019 with snorkel at MSRP of $47,470. I declined and instead bought a fully loaded 2019 OR in a color I really wanted at their discounted price of $36.5K (MSRP $41170). Spent around $4k and made my OR a PRO+. The only thing I am missing is a scooped hood (which I am not a big fan of). It'll cost me an additional $800.00 to have one painted and installed if I really decide to go for it. So for $40k and some change I am enjoying everything that a PRO has to offer with $7k still sitting in my account. Win, win in my book.

For those who like to mod, buy an OR. My neighbor has a Pro and has left it bone stock. It’s a great looking truck. I’ve dumped about $12k into my OR and it’s better for for me. Not a better truck, but a better investment.

The power trains are the same. It’s not like we’re comparing V6 vs V8 mustangs or 911’s to 718’s.

It’s a truck. Buy the one that fits your needs and your budget.

Get the OR and Mod it!
I bought my 2017 OR for $35,500 out the door with taxes and everything. So far in expenses i have put about $7,000 into my truck. It has more lift than the pro with a better suspension.
If you like the leather seats of the pro, look into clazzios. These are my pro style leather seatings
