Nice Fg2. You didn't do anything to the engine though? I had thought about selling the Taco for an Fg2 or Fa5 back when gas was crazy expensive, I'm glad I didn't; I woulda missed my truck.

yeah fast cars are fun, but only when youre on the track. otherwise you just go till you get pulled over.. a truck can go everywhere and (usually) legally!

I've had quite few Civics over the years and they are a blast to drive, but I was getting to the point where, like unholycumulus said, I was getting pulled over too much trying to enjoy the car so I had to keep going to the track to really have fun. That gets EXPENSIVE too! But with the Taco, I can have fun all day every day and not get a ticket (except for the blacked out windows! haha)!!!!

05TacoTRD - I had a TWM short shifter, CAI, and an exhaust but that was it. I was considering pulling the trigger on the AJP turbo kit and boosting power to over 300HP, but decided there was no point. I couldn't use it on the street anyway and I was already missing the Taco, so I saved the money and got the truck!

why are you guys getting pulled over with "fast"(lol) cars? I used to drive a 500 hp transam on the street without any issues by cops. sounds like the car wasnt the problem, it was the driver ;)

Oh the driver definitely was the problem! haha My "fast" Civic was only fun to drive when it was bouncing off the rev limiter while going through the twisty mountain roads, so that attracted the wrong kind of attention, not to mention was really stupid!!

RoyB, any pics of your TransAm? Sounds like a beast! How much could you really enjoy all 500HP on the street??

None of them really ever got me in trouble. You just need to know where to play where there are minimal people and coppers. Or take it to the track. Here is me in the magnum at Road America. Took the turn a hair too hot and almost landed in the sand! 4400 lb station wagon with 2 people in it, and I was showing up some older m3s and vettes. I could only hang with the newer m3s for a lap or 2 before they pulled away. My buddys camaro is setup for road racing and he was only going a couple mph faster in some of the turns...he was also on race rubber vs my F1s.

Awesome cars man! The TransAm looks like it was a blast! And the pic of you at Road America is great! Looks like you were doing all you could to hang on to it at the edge! haha

I did a couple NASA trackdays and SCCA events in the Civic and it was a great time! That's about the only thing I miss about having that car. Other than that, I can take the bike to the track and get my speed fix! Thanks for sharing the pics!

thanks. that m3 was on my ass like fly on shit. I checked my mirror before the turn and lost a bit of concentration. It was the end of a switch back and I was hitting around 110-120 there. lot of road is covered fast at that pace.

Heres a sequence of the pictures:

1 - after I realized I was going too fast I tried to take it as deep as possible and stay on the brakes while goings straight. worked well apparently

I sure do miss the handling and power of the magnum. the corvette is pale in comparison imo. I am kind of upset with it vs the srt, considering it's 1000 lbs less!

Your gsxr is bad ass. my bike wouldn't make it around quite as quickly ;)

Nice looking whip. What is it? Any more pictures? I love the straight body lines and fenders on the older cars. Looks like a mid/late 60s... dart, or cornet? I don't know my old mopars so well.

Sounds like a pretty badass ride. As much as I want to get a Si, I know I'll miss the Taco and the ability to go wherever whenever I want. Prior to my Taco I had an '07 Nissan SE-R.
