My Dodge [4x4 1500, that POS] is inoperative and I've had it in storage for the past four months. I've been kicking around the idea of towing it up to folks' place in Montana to store it there. Here's the thing my '06 Prerunner would need a hitch, as it didn't come with a tow package.
    I am wondering if it's possible/practical...

I'd sure appreciate any input and/or suggestions.

( I should just sell the stupid thing, but I know that I probably won't get much of any thing for it. I'd almost rather fix it later and keep it as a junker chore truck for back home -- let folks use it while I'm not there.)

It would depend on what the truck weighs and how far you're going with it. But, since you dont have the tow package you'd be missing the tranny cooler if you're and auto, and you'd need to buy and wire in a trailer brake controller too. I probably wouldnt go through the hassle and cost associated(and some risk) with doing it and instead find someone with a larger truck already set up to tow to do it for you.

Right on there - get on Craigslist and find someone going up there with an emty trailer. Flip him a couple of hundred and you're done.
