Can you tell me about the front and rear suspension setups on that black runner?

 

It's got ~3" springs in the front with 8" shackles
And 4" springs in the back with 6" shackles

 

Need to update this:

I've added 4.7 transfer case gears
Sliders
63" Chevy springs in the rear
Trail gear low profile front bumper

Working on:
Dual cases
RUF (rear springs up front) building the packs right now.
Maybe some 4:88 gears doubt it though.

 

You went with the Chebbys?

 

Yeah I got them for $10 for the pair

 

I guess that makes sense. I need to get to the junkyard and pick up some F-150s pretty quick. I'm going to hunt for the 2 1/2" leafs so as to not have to do a lot of extra work mounting them and they are supposed to be more flexible.

Did you do anything for your drive shaft?

 

Not yet see what it does then go from there. That same place we got my dads springs from is the place to go for sure.

 

Yeah, I probably see if you want to go over there some time towards the end of the month. I'll buy lunch.

 

Some Updates

Before the 63'' springs



I installed 63'' Chevy springs in the rear and swapped the longer shackles I had in the front to the rear and moved those up front flexes nicely now

 

The ride height is so much nicer now, lower center of gravity

 

Picked up an E-locker for the front just need gears.

 

Still wanting 4:88 gears?

 

Looking at 4:88 but may just stick with 4:10 for $$ sake.

Went out to a huge offroad park this past weekend and while it did great, a locker for the front would have made it 100 times easier. The only thing was my ground clearance of some of the large rock faces, I crushed the gas tank skid pretty good. Looking into building one out of plate, and making my own diff armor.

 

You could just use the steering wheel to move the diffs away from the rocks....
