I did mine. Fairly straight forward install. And I'm very new to any auto electrical. :notsure:

Finally got my Taco Dane lights installed.
    Hood lights - neutral white:

Camper shell lights - warm white:

On-off switch for the camper shell lighting. I ran 10g wiring to the rear of the bed so I could install 12V outlets as well.

Since I might do some truck camping, I wanted to be able to dim the camper shell lights. I found this switch at Super Bright LEDs:

It was cheap, but so far so good. It has dimming of course, and a handful of "disco" blinking modes as well :) not that I see myself using them.

Thanks for sharing the pics. I went ahead and shared them to my current for sale thread. Great install! How is the strips holding to the carpet

Well, that's partly why the installation took so long :)

I knew I wanted a roof rack on the camper shell, so rather than using washers on the inside, I bought 2 x 48" strips of 1" aluminum, that I drilled to match up with the roof rail mounting holes. When I mounted the roof rails I ran the bolts through the aluminum strips so that they clamped the roof from the inside. I had offset the holes in the aluminum strips to one side so I had room to stick the LED strips to the aluminum. Worked out perfectly.

Well that's some great thinking right there! Better assurance for the strips to stick.

Yes, it worked out very nice mounting them that way.

Here's a shot of the LED strips on the aluminum strap. I used 3:1 adhesive lined shrink tubing to further secure the ends of the LED strips to the aluminum:

I used the hook-side of velcro straps to secure the wiring to the carpet lining of the camper shell:

Kits arrived today as promised. Installed in about 30 minutes and couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.
These LED strips throw a ton of light and they stick to bare metal really well. I wiped down the mounting spots with some wet rags.

You can tell from the picture that I need a relay with all the other stuff plopped onto the terminals, so i will likely do that next.

    20160602_222746.jpg

    20160602_222711.jpg

Also, for reference, I did my own bed lights, and by the time I had all of the materials (wire x2 Red/Black 50ft.,
terminal connections, switch, led strips, wire loom, etc.) I was easily into it for $70...and then the LED strips I
got started to fall off the mounting spot, so I had to go back and get some 3M tape for the entire length of the LED,
another $10. They turned out fine, but if I had to do it over again, I would probably just get them from Dane.

$70 on your first diy bedlighting...wow! I don't have half that lighting up my grill..underhood.. footwell..glovebox..center console cupholders..full bedlighting wire and switches.

Not that the crap I bought is anywhere near quality of o.p's kit with braided lines& all cut to fit and ready to go...i spent hours trying to figure it all out and @tacodane has a kit that looks way more fun to instal!
Worth the extra $ to make our lives easier!
Wish I'd have seen these before I did mine!

Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately I do not build these kits anymore. I have to put my extra time into another job.
