I have a auto accident on 95 south back to three weeks ago.......this is my brand new truck, less than 5 weeks, and less than 1000 miles on it.
The guy hit my rear end very head...... so the mainframe at the rear is bend down..... so now insurance company ask the body shop try to pull it stright....... Insurance company may total the truck if the mainframe cannot pull it stright..... Any advice for if they go to replace the mainframe is that OK for future OR just total it. Please give me some advice....... I need help.

sorry to hear about the accident man. that really sucks, but glad you are ok. honestly, if i were you, i go for getting them to total it. if any part of the frame is bent, it aint going to be right again as far as im concerned.

frame damage is not good even if they pull it strait, or what they call strait, chances are it will never be exactly right. if they give you the option of totaling it, I would total it and get another Tacoma. Sorry for the loss.

That's right about invoice on the '09. Tell the insurance company that you want the '08 totaled and go for it.

Don't wish it. I assume that you're dealing with the insurance company of the guy that hit you? Tell them you think a truck with frame damage is unacceptable in any way shape or form and demand that they total it.

If that's 2WD, I just bought one here for $26,700, but it did not have JBL and Bluetooth. I also got the 2.9% financing.

Now if its 4x4, at $27,300, that's probably a much better deal than what I got.

PS: scrap the old truck. The frame is high tensile steel and if it bends it work hardens badly when straightened. Even if they could get it really straight it would never be as strong.

if the guy rear ended you, then why the hell is your insurance company paying? it should be his to pay unless he is uninsured. But i agree with the other dude that said a truck with frame damage is unacceptable....especially a brand new one

Some states have what's called "No Fault" insurance. That means no matter who is at fault, each persons insurance pays for their own vehicle. It's meant to protect against driver's with no insurance. Mostly what it does is drive up insurance cost. I know Kentucky is that way, he may also be in a state that has that.

Exactly, it's damaged goods. No amount of straightening will prevent the bed from buckling under a heavy load. It will look ok, but the structural integrity has been compromised, and your truck is not worth what it was new.
