Tacoma 2018 with Magnum Headache Rack & Tonneau Cover

I didn't like the four clamps that Magnum provided to hold down the rack on the side of the bed. By doing their way, I couldn't put the tonneau cover on my truck. I finally modified their rack and mounted right on top of the bed. It's a lot sturdy and preventing from thefts

 

I was just looking at that same rack today. The issue I have with most if not all of the headache racks is that I have the OEM tonneau cover which sits on to of the bed sides instead of between. Some of the adapters end up raising the rack about 3 inches above the roof line which I dont like.

Can you post more pictures on the mods you had to do to install it?

 

What is the width of the OEM cover. I measure the opening of the rack is 58-1/2" from side to side. See if your cover will fit into this opening.

 

The OEM cover wont fit. pretty much completely cover the bed sides. I don't like the adapter but is the only option that works unless I change to a different tonneau. Thanks!

 

Post your OEM cover on OfferUp or Craigslist and sell it. Buy the one that fit between the rails. I bought my tonneau cover on Craigslist, good lucks

 

Can you tell me what model Magnum headache rack you have? I’m looking for one for my 1st gen Tacoma and haven’t found a Magnum model that’ll fit. Yours looks great.
