I just hope it's a relatively cheap/easy solution whatever it is.

Does anyone know how to remove the vacuum line on the fpr. It's tight back there, and I figured it just slid on, but I pulled pretty hard and it didn't budge. I didn't want to break the line, but I do want to check to make sure it is pulling a vacuum and that there isn't any oil or fuel in it.

I just pulled the vacuum hose of the regulator, and could not feel any vacuum at all. I'm going to try to rig up something to manually pull a vacuum on the regulator and see what that does. Should it have any vacuum at idle? I know it increases as you accelerate

It is setup using a different theory. Not regular vacuum.

Venturi? So is there any way to check it? I know a fuel pressure test, but that wouldn't necessarily isolate the regulator.

Also, I've been trying to do like someone said earlier and give it some gas when I crank it. That seems to help somewhat. I'll probably end up having to change the fuel pump

Day two, and giving it some gas while cranking seems to help. It still sounds funny when starting, but I haven't had an extended crank since I've tried it. I will keep reporting as I test it out.

How many times have you given it some gas on startup?

I'm leaning towards a bad pressure regulator

I've tried it 4 times when i feel like it would have normally messed up. It didn't startup perfect, but it was noticably quicker.

    Have you tried it?

Not yet but I will. Thankfully I only really have to start my truck when it's "warm" just several times a week because most of the time I'm cold starting to go to work, truck sits all day, then I'm cold starting back home.

I got ya. Well I usually have to crank mine once or twice a day after my morning commute

Just went and tried it again just to see, and it cranked up pretty good. Definitely thinking it's a fuel issue. I really wish they had an easier was to pressure test the system

Well, now I'm not so sure it was fuel. I finally got my new PCV valve in (O'Reilly's had to order it) and put it on. My engine cranked up better than it ever has, and it idled around 700 RPM. Before changing it out it idled at 1500 and then dropped closer to 1000 when warmed up.

Will report back the more I test it.

No, I'm not sure. I think the old pcv was open all the time. It rattles, but upon further research, the rattle is not an accurate test for newer pcvs since the spring could be bad and it would still rattle.

I'm going to be driving again around 5, so I will see how it starts then, but it would be nice if this fixed my issue.
