    Ever seen the people running with breathing masks on? They're working harder to get the same power because they're restricting the breathing. Same with motors.

    no, running an engine with an intake restriction isn't making it work harder, it just isn't making the power it could. Less air means less power.

    This back and forth banter serves no purpose, I suggest those who wish to discuss these issues further read:
    I own and have read both (each more than once--as it takes more than once), though I understand more of Dr. Heywood's than Dr. Taylor's as I did part of my grad work under Dr. Heywood and have the opportunity to speak to him about a lot of it.

    After that we can talk about whether whether engine "A"; or a modified version of engine "A" (engine "B") producing more power; is "working harder"...

    Headers on a v6 NA truck doesn't make sense to me but if it has forced induction then it would. Any v6 I've ever heard with a catback imho don't sound good unless it's a porsche or 350z an Cummings.

    Does anybody have an actual before/after dyno run of a 4.0 with/without headers/exhaust mods? I'm talking the same truck at the same elevation on the same dyno, like during the same week? That to me would be actual proof of solid gains.

    I've never known anybody to base gains on one guys base run in a similar truck on a random dyno in a random state comparing to several different trucks in several different states on several different dynos.
