Maybe it is an illusion from the all the black plastic under the bumper.
That would be a problem for me & my driveways.

Colorado pulled up next to me a few days ago while driving. Wasn't too impressed with the way it looked. Taco is a better looking truck from all angles, but I bet the inside of that colorado cabin is pretty sweet.

an honest comparison would require the gen3 Tacoma and the new Colorado. Also same cab configuration and similar trim levels.

I like the Colorado except for one thing: its a chevy and every one my family has ever owned was terrible. I also think the inside of the Colorado doesn't look as nice as the current Tacoma or the 2016, but it is loaded with cool features. It's just too rounded on the edges and looks cheap.

I agree the plastic on the front bumper is extremely low hanging, but it looks like the 2016 Tacoma will have that also. I'm sure it can be removed pretty easily...or torn off on a trail if your more into that method.

All the Colorado needs is a leveling kit and some bigger tires (maybe on the stock wheels depending on which ones) and it would be as tight looking as a taco. Plus you get power seats, 300 HP and better MPGs... not saying i would take one but there are some big benefits to those Colorados. Not worth all the issues and sub par engineering that comes with a chevy tho IMO

I prefer the looks of the Canyon over the Colorado. I may even prefer the looks of the Canyon over the Taco, but I couldn't deal with 1st year GM product vs tried and true Taco.

My brother in law just traded an 01 dcsb for a new Chevy... Just saw it at dinner last night, I agree on the outside, it looks a little funky... The inside though, I'm a little jealous! Heated leather, remote start from his cell phone, his stereo sounds much better than my new Tacoma's does, bigger back seat than my old 07 dcsb, for a family with two kids I understand why he got it. I'll stick to my Taco though!

Just curious, are the rear springs on the Colorado/Canyon mounted above or below the rear axle? Or does it vary by 2wd and 4wd.

The previous generation of the GM Twins had the rear springs under the axle. Never understood why.

It's been mentioned on toyotanation, not to be fooled by the 300 hp due to its increased weight. Power to weight ration is where it's at.........or more importantly tourque. That Colorado is ugly as sin compared to the Tacoma.

i thought i liked the Colorado, but that is not a very flattering photo of it, esp the front end. looks like base trim too... maybe i like the canyon more now.
