Me? Just an 18 year old kid. I own a 2018 Tacoma TRD Sport in the ONLY transmission that cars should offer, the manual. and no, not daddy's money. Im paying $500 a month just like some or most of you guys. Anyways, I LOOOOVE sports car and offroad rigs. I have always been a car enthusiast and Im always interested in learning more. My first car was actually a 2003 TRD Tacoma that my dad bought brand new. I had fun after a couple of years with it, but like any kid, I wanted my own car. I had plenty of options but I wanted an AWD or 4x4. I was left with a subaru wrx or tacoma. I test drove both in manual. The tacoma simply felt better built in terms of smoothness or quality. Yeah the wrx is fun and fast but honestly, I felt at home in the tacoma. I ultimately picked the tacoma. I have SOOO much fun just perfecting my shifts and feeling confident in bad weather. I just drove through ice and snow (roads not plowed, 2 hour city and highway drive) yesterday and I had no problems. and just today, I just plowed and drifted in snow! I love tacomas. Is it slow? No because it's not an automatic! As far as potential mods go, I will be getting a custom OVtune with the higher rev limiter. Doesn't make much sense to me that the v6 camry has a higher redline with the same engine. Well, I guess to prevent some engine wear that comes with towing or maybe desert running. But I dont do any of those things. Retrofit headlights, MBRP exhaust, and maybe the turbo kit that I heard from OVtune. ;) Oh and Im about to have a clean 3 year record on my license with no tickets or accidents at my fault. Some girl t-boned me at a parking lot a couple of months ago. So theres that on my new truck but it's fixed. Dont want people thinking Im the typical teen who doesnt drive safe. Well thanks to anyone who reads this. I will be reading all the comments so I look foward to it. In case someone asks why I typed all of this, I was bored

EDIT: wow... I didn’t expect this amount of responses. Well in short, from my pov, it’s quite the perfect, all rounded vehicle that I always wanted. Safe, reliable, and pretty sporty. Yes, I drove 1st and 2nd gen tacos. But 3rd gen feels better built. Love the manual transmission! From my car friends’ pov, it’s big but pretty fast. They also add that the transmission and suspension is pretty smooth. and that Im a pretty good stick-shift driver :)

Bored? If I was 18 and had a Taco I wouldn't be bored. Go chase girls or mod your truck or something. I'm bored but I'm old and it's cold outside.

NOT chasing girls is probably why this young man can afford to be in a relatively new truck.
3 kids and a mortgage at that age and he'd probably be driving a mid 90's Honda civic or a yugo.
