Yes, we all have different perspectives.

I bought a used car and learned about auto repair. Also never worried about it getting scratched/ stolen/ mangled.

About the time it died, I junked it, bought a bicycle and moved to an apartment in the city.

Little responsibility, few possessions, lots of young willing females.....

Yeah, so glad I did it when I was young....no mid life crisis to worry about here.

    Cheers

lol when I was teaching ROTC in 2013 I had to stop a conversation between cadets before class and ask them what the hell hashtag meant. “Oh you mean pound?” lol

I literally made fun of my companies owner today. I'm in IT and he could not get his Roku on his lounge TV to connect to wifi. I told him to hit hashtag when he was entering the password and he was completely lost. Haha. But again I'm mid 30s so it goes both ways for me.

lol You’re in that grey area. Old enough to remember the Y2K scare and flip phones yet young enough to understand what the hell all these acronyms mean.

    Exactly.

Got 13 year old and 9 year old daughters. I can relate with them pretty well. But my oldest daughter is into K-Pop and BTS. I cant relate to that crap!! Haha.

I typed of this whole long response talking about the financial side of things and blah blah blah. Decided to keep it short. Honestly, the best advice Ive been given by anyone was live life. He may go down the road and realize, wow I made a mistake, or he may go on through life with a paid off truck and celebrate the fact he went through all of this before he had a kid and a wife and no money to spend on him self. Life can come at you fast so enjoy what you have when you have it. BAM, short sweet and too the point.

Fawk that, we should shit on OP some more for buying a truck and try to give financial and mortgage advice in the 3rd gen sub-forum some more instead of talking about trucks. I'm better with money. No, fuck you!!! I'm better with money; look at what I own and my brokerage statements!!!! Unless you put 40% down on your house you're lighting your money on fire. Eat shit, unless you buy your new car in cash (because you buy new when you're thrifty right?) you don't have enough money to buy it!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

YOU ALL SUCK WITH MONEY UNLESS YOU SEE EVERYTHING MY WAY!!!!!

Haha, man I just don't get it. I understand the whole savings part but damn, this guy just wants to talk about his truck and how happy he is about it and is getting the full PVT treatment. Commander shits on TOP, TOP shits on Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant shits on Squad leader, and then Squad leader shits on soldier. Then its like the Battalion CSM got ahold of it and started the chain again without knowing the Brigade just got wind of the situation. Just a whole shit storm lol.

I was hoping that if I spammed enough truck pictures and videos in this thread that it might overtake the unwanted financial advice from random strangers to other random strangers who don't know much about the man in question. I don't think that it worked though...

Maybe I just need to start posting more random videos instead:

    Yeah.
Semi seriously, and I'm no survivalist or anything, but...
If the SHTF, I mean for real...forget gold.

.22LR for bartering purposes. Lots of it.
Cheap "investment", relatively light in large quantities.
And it won't take so much space that your wife will think you're nuts.:p

Most country folk have at least one .22 firearm.
You'd want to be far, far away from any city.

    Mostly kidding.:p
But I plink and target shoot with my .22 firearms and have lot of ammo on hand.
Gotta keep the goddamn groundhogs outta my garden.

What if she asks how much ammo you have? You gotta say like 10 boxes but if you have 3 1000 Round 5.56 Ammo Cans, that's only 3. If she pesters you, say its to save her life. Theres no way she'll argue with that right? LOL

Ha, she has no idea. 10k rounds of .22LR doesn't look like all that much.

She's used to seeing buckets and buckets of shotgun shells from my days as a competitive trapshooter.
Still have the shotshell reloader and a fair amount of components. ;)

Yeah 22 is definitely a lot better about that than shotgun shells. I couldn't imagine the amount of room that took up.
