I was saying that in defense of us. I know lots of people get sticker shock but I justify it. When are you planning to pick yours up? I was #7 on the whiteboard

Had quite the quick jaunt in death valley with it. Camped at Homestake and was getting blasted by wind all night and morning. It was quite unnerving having it open in those conditions, but it held up. I think there was about an hour of calm I was able to sleep around 3am. It was also a challenge packing it back up on my own in the wind.

It did as well as any tent would in that kind of wind, but it helps to reposition so The wind isn't broadsiding it. I also recommend not trying to close it facing into the wind.

Just curious, do these qualify as RV's in terms of financing like other campers for trucks? :notsure:

After quite a few solo efforts, let me reassure you it gets much easier and faster to close, even with adverse weather. My protocol goes like this-

I will partially close the top using the tarp bungee with a ball on one end. I'll then try to tuck in as much material as neatly as possible on that side. Next I walk around to the other side and will completely tuck in the tent working back to front, securing the rear-most T-handle. Using a wooden paint stirrer, it's pretty easy to tuck the remaining fabric up under the lip on the other side, working forward and closing the remaining T-handles. The paint stirring stick really helps.

Nice, I also find it helps to replace the elastic on the bungee with cord that won't stretch.

When compared to an Jeep Ursa Minor or Sportsmobile poptop van conversion, price doesn't seem out of line to me. I don't see myself giving up my RTT and getting one anytime soon, but given the aluminum construction and utility, i understand those who've pulled the trigger.

I dont think the do, but you would have to call your bank and see. My understanding is they have a list and if not on list they you have to come up with info and then they decide if they want to finance it.
