Thanks EJ! @seoulja99 I'll check in this week after you get some more time with them.

Excited to hear Randy's impression @artesho

I should be installing mine in 2 weeks. Initial impression in @seoulja99 rig was awesome. The added weight in the rear with this setup makes it very plush and comfortable. We will be putting it through it's paces soon along with my rig.

Just got the hangers today @ARCHIVE (cross bar got here on Saturday). They look great, super beefy and beautifully designed! Can't wait to install once I get the rest of my lift (probably OME + Dakars and then upgrade to an adjustable resi setup in a couple of years).

I was just going through the instructions Eric - do I need to extend brake lines if I'm only doing a moderate lift (2.5" or less)?

Thank you for the compliment. Extended lines are required depending on your shock length and setup. Stock length shocks don't require extended lines

I have seen some discussion on different threads on how the slightly different shackle mounting location from stock (moved back a bit) is "better". But I cannot find any explanation for why that is.. Can you elaborate?

I assume it has to do with the angle of the shackle at ride height.

Does moving the pivot location back increase risk of the shackle toggling? (rotating too far down and getting jammed down) but I suppose a longer shackle would offset that.

I am definitely interested, just want to understand what it is i'm buying.

Thanks for looking into it, and asking for explanation. It is rearward in an effort to increase travel, something everyone prefers. I do think the Hammer hangers will droop better than my shackle flip, and definitely have better bump travel than flip (shackle flip increases negative arch at full bump over stock hangers).
I know the HH will droop better than stock, here's why. Most spring over packs fully arched up are longer eye to eye than the distance between the front hanger bolt and the rear shackle bolt (when horizontally laid out). The springs won't fit down in with stock shackle hanger pivot location. Knowing this issue, I designed the Hammer hangers with the shackle pivot rearward so that the shackles have a better chance of dropping out, potentially adding inches to droop.

If you take a look at all the designed long travel SUA kits (DMZ Giant), full droop happens with shackle fully laid out.
Archive is doing the same for spring over packs. Some of the expo packs may still have trouble getting shackle to lay out, but i know it will be better than stock location for sure. If the shackle rotates down and hits the bottom plate of hangers, there is no chance of getting jammed, that is just the limit point.

Besides that, the stock hangers are among the worst parts Toyota ever made, they are so flimsy they introduce chatter into the rear suspension and give it that signature Tacoma twerk. Like a spring attached to a spring! It's partially why a TRDPro can't hang with a ZR2, the rear end gets so upset. It's not the frame, springs or shocks, it's the hangers.

    Thanks, Eric

Ok I follow what you are saying. I guess that begs the question why are the spring packs so long then? Is it because the stock hanger has no protection against shackle toggling so they try to prevent the shackle from ever going horizontal?

(I don't yet have a Tacoma to go at look at my stock hanger to confirm this/compare to)

So, it's been about a week since the install, and so far...cush!

Granted, I haven't gone off road with this set-up, yet. But the ride in the city, highways, and mall parking lots are solid. These Archive Garage Hammer Hangers (AGHH) with the Archive Garage (AG) U-bolts and the Deaver U402 leaf spring packs are an excellent combo.

I need to go flex them on a ramp to see what they're like compared to stock hangers with AllPro Standard leaf spring packs and the AG Shackle Flip with AllPro Standards. Once I do, I'll post photos of the different set-ups.

I wish I took a photo of the droop when I had the truck up on the hydraulic lift after installing just one side. It looked very comparable, at a glance.

I'm also a fan of the fact Eric took into consideration that the Hammer Hangers would probably hit and drag on the ground so the curved edge on the front side of the HH is a nice touch. The HH do hang lower than the AG Shackle Flip, so we'll see how they do when I take the truck off road with the new set-up.

You'd get about 1/2" lift using stock shackles with the Hammer hangers. Travel is limited by the spring, but since the shackle pivot is rearward on Hammers, the shackle might fully rotate down, then you'd get some additional droop travel.
