Tacoma is named dangerous truck?

I'm not sure they can do stories that are that short....

These people are just idiots, the first guy has a manual truck why would the truck surge if he's stopped on a stop light with 1 foot on the brake or clutch and the other on the gas. Mine is a automatic and barely surges if any and I don't even notice when it does. I've owned Toyotas since 1985 and have never experienced this kind of garbage, what else.....

Looks to me like a speedo problem more than a lurching problem...I don't think speedo's on trucks were built to move that fast.

I get a real 'lurch' in my '11 Taco on one specific occasion:

I shift from Drive to Neutral. Then when ready to go, I shift from Neutral back to Drive. When I am pressing the accelerator, the truck moves slowly to start then 'lurches' forward.

This is not a defect or 'recall-worthy' as it is merely part of the design. What exactly it is attributable to is unknown to me, but I don't really care. Of course if someone knows the actual reason, please let me know as it does spark my curiosity.

 

He was trying to say that the RPM hang going from 4th to 5th was scary because he lurched forward....he's already going 50 MPH at that point (of course he's vehicle is going forward), and the RPM hang occurs in EVERY gear. What a fuck head.

And I love how the two news lady bimbo's were talking back and forth at the end of the video...as if they have even the slightest clue what the fuck they are talking about.

 

my Automatic trans. '07 Tacoma does this "surging" when at a red light. I swear on my mother's eyesight. ( still love the truck though) I have learned to press a little harder on the brake when I am stopped. // ps I have had the recall this done

 

I like the surge, it keeps me awake during the 5am commute.

 

yeah its a very simple fix:

1. place foot firmly on the brake pedal.
2. put your phone down so you can concentrate on the road.
3. remove your head from your *ss.

stupid people cause stupid things to happen....bottom line.

 

I'm with this guy my truck does the surge thing at red lights I don't know why it does it but I'm used to it and don't mind it at all if it stopped doing it then I would think something was wrong. As for the guy in the video say his truck was uncomfortable maybe he should try adjusting his seat my truck actually feels damn comfortable to drive.
