Tacoma JBL Package the real waiting game. FP P&T Package JBL.

9/23 Ordered Black Tacoma v6 DCSB 4x4 Auto with FP Premium and Technology Package JBL. Expected delivery unknown. From what I am noticing if you order with the FP JBL package this is what makes you really play the waiting game. Just checking who ordered along the lines of the JBL package and what they have been told as far as a waiting time. I am on the east coast in Georgia dealer says possibly early December.

 

I ordered the exact same truck(east coast) but went w/o the JBL. One reason was it was $700 extra
and I've read just as many "it sounds better than stock" as I've read "meh, no big change" so for the money
I'll go after market depending on what I get sounds. The other reason I left it off was, like you, build & delivery
time frame was UNKNOWN and I don't do well with the unknowns

 

My white sport with premium tech and jbl was built on 9/30. Should take delivery end of next week

 

I talked to a dealer yesterday and they told me 3-4 months if I wanted the JBL

 

It's an east coast thing I think. I have no date for my DCLB off road tech/prem non jbl.

Out west they have them or coming soon. I'm seriously thinking of buying one out west and driving it home or shipping it in. If i can get a good deal out there that offsets the other expenses I may try it before it snows.

 

That's quite odd. Glad my order does not have it.

 

DCLB OR +jbl +tow ordered 8/17, built 9/26 should take delivery this week -- there should be SB's out there to be had but maybe not East. My dealer told me that thr mountain West gets most of the OR allocations generally speaking so that may be part of your problem. I'd definitely search around - a DCSB OR is a very common truck in Colorado and I have seen a couple at dealers here already some with and some w/o JBL


[note: the DCLB OR is also only 3% of all truck allocations they are building - it's a unicorn, SB is much more common and has higher allocation numbers]

 

cars.com lists a bunch - some have to have JBL based on the prices shown - expand to all miles - your dealer might be able to grab and existing or upcoming one - these are all Black, OR editions

I ordered a 2WD back in September. My dealer claimed they found one with FPAT and Towing and snagged it, marking it sold...But I have not seen it. If it does not come with JBL I will wait for one that does. Or buy a Limited

Maybe the 2WD Sports are considered to be more Street trucks and have the better stereos. Off Roaders don't normally run their music loud and deep and rather spend the $700 on Off Road stuff.

 

I am also in GA, ordered a TRD Sport DCLB with JBL and was also told they have no way of knowing when they would be available, but that it could easily be over 8 weeks.

 

The dealer in NC told me that it wasn't even a standard build so it would have to be custom ordered. Any custom orders they're saying 3-4 months unless they change an existing allocation that's waiting to be built which is what I did. But not getting the JBL as I don't want to lose storage behind the seat

 

Lose storage behind the seat? Can you be more specific about that? I just had to special order my trd OR DC because I wanted the JBL as well. They told me they had the same truck coming in this week without the JBL. Told me 8 to 10 weeks.

 

This is the difference behind the seats in the back. I would rather wait and get the JBL than have to get a custom molding for a sub or just sit a sub on the back seat plus an amp. That is why I am going with the JBL. I dont care to much about the space its not a complete loss. There are still plenty of other areas to store stuff.

 

Wow that's interesting, I had no idea about the space issue. I honestly don't know what comes with the JBL, I just wanted a nice sound system. We had a Kia Borrego a couple of years ago and it had an Infiniti sound system, it was awesome! Thanks for the pics.

The JBL sounds very nice has a small rattle that I am sure you could just stuff a towel and get rid of the noise. Yes it's $700 extra but look how much it would cost to put a custom system back there. A hell of a lot more if you want it to still look nice. The only difference in the premium & techs is jbl and no jbl. Both packages still come with heated seats, sunroof, park assistance, side monitor, climate control, Color matched bumper and I'm not sure what else.

 

What state are you in? That's awesome hopefully the fp packages will make their way to the east coast soon.

 

Is that a subwoofer back there? Is that where the rattle you speak of comes from?

 

Yes it is. The JBL system is pretty crisp and a good amount of bass.

 

Coo, I ordered the quicksand color. I thought I wanted a sport, but after I test drove one that hood scoop blocks allot of your view. I didn't like it. Had that been a problem with the earlier models?
