You need a spring compressor to adjust them.

So if I install the Daker complete leaf pack, how high does that lift the back?

I don't think it adds more lift then the aal does, but the stock leafs on Tacomas are crap, so changing them to something different will improve your overall ride.

Alright, guess I will do it right and get the Dakars.

So what should I have them set the coilovers at if I want an even ride?

How long does it take to install new coilovers and a leaf pack? Is it hard, and do you need special tools?

I have never done the front so I can't tell you anything about that, but I do know it's a pain in the ass if you don't have a lift and tall stands for the rear. I would recommend getting everything you want and having it put on by a professional place, that way if you need an alignment after they can do that too.

Check out toytec, they have a lot of lifts to choose from for all kinds of prices. If you have questions about the lifts you can call them and they will help you out, they are really cool people.

Wheelers is also a great place to shop. YotaDan is very knowledgeable, and I swear that if you mention his name in a forum he magically appears to answer your questions... Kinda like OZ... Hmmmmmmmmmm...

Just got off the phone with Toytec, the difference between the two I linked, is that the ultimate is adjustable by hand with the coilovers on the truck. Im gonna pay the extra $260 to have it be adjustable by hand. Also you are able to set it to 3.5" so that you will get a full 3" lift if you have double cab, access cab, aftermarket bumper/armor etc.

How important is it to do UCAs with a 3" lift? I will probably keep it just above stock for a while.

Also how hard is it to install the cool overs, UCAs and rear leafs? I got a quote for $465 inc alignment but I'm debating on doing it myself.

UCAs make the truck ride better IMO, and there are other benefits using ones like Light Racing besides better alignments.

If you're asking us my first inclination is for you to pay, but if you've got tools and some know-how (and a free weekend) you can definitely get it done. That is a good deal on labor and alignment, so if you aren't the wrenching type don't feel bad, plus you can rest easy knowing it was installed properly.

Manufacturers say to change to a better UCA so you don't get steering wonder when you go above stock. I would say get new UCAs and have someone put everything on. Unless you have air tools it's a pain in the ass to torque everything you need to.
