since the economy is in a nose dive, toyota is going to shut down 11 days of production... does that mean there will be few tacoma to choose from??

I dont know the people looking for one, but glad i have my truck... :D

I was told by my local dealer last night that the Southeast Toyota division ussually orders 25000 units per quarter and they are scaling that back to 2500. If that is accurate numbers then I would say the number of trucks will be scaled back dramatically. They sold all 15 tacomas they had last weekend.

I actually pick up my 09 tomorrow. They are making deals to reduce inventory immediately. I actually got $3500 off sticker and $300 in accessories for my 09 DC 4x4 which in this area is unheard of. That number included a $750 rebate from toyota but I just let the 2 dealerships bid against each other til I could get no more and it was the exact same truck from both dealers as it was still sitting in port. Its at the dealer now getting detailed and I cant wait til wednesday.

We have some hellacious mudholes and swamps to run through down here. I guarantee you'll be challenged.

Yes, I did get the TRD Off Road package. If its not the swamps, its the sand that will swallow you up down here. I am in the NW area so we have an occasional bump or small hill here. Unlike NJ our hills arent made out of trash though (j/k). I work in Newark sometimes and its never a pleasant visit. Elevation 345 ft at the highest point just south of Florala.

345 ft is the high point in FLORIDA??? is that consider a mosquito bump?
Newark, is ghetto. NJ has its good thing, EXPENSIVE state to live in!
i want to move to Cali, not likely soon.

Its located about 40 minutes north of me but yea, 345 ft to the top of the mountain in Florida. You can see all states here http://geology.com/state-high-points.shtml

I guess alot of people dont like where they live and want to move. I know I absolutely hate living here in Fl. and will be moving asap. I only moved back here to be a dad to my son and he is almost 18 and dont even give a sht that I am even here so its time to find my mountain cabin somewhere soon.

And what would that be? Lol!

The Suzuki Equator shouldn't do too bad. The funny thing is, it will steal sales from the Frontier because of that 100K mile warranty and, IMO, it looks better. People who want to downsize but still need a truck will look to the Frontier/Equator and the Tacoma.
