Tacoma Load sensing brake proportioning valve

    Quick question ive been searching the forums and cant seem to find any suitable suggestions...

    my rear load sensing valve on my tacoma has stopped working there is now no fluid being sent to the rear wheels at all... to replace the valve is around 200us but im looking for a cheaper alternative...

    has anyone tried using an aftermarket proportion valve around the back and how much modification did you have to do to get it to work?

    I don`t have any valve at all

    None of the Trucks when I learned to drive had valves or ABS.

    If you never haul any weight you can get one of those single stage valves

    adjust it where you like and your good to go

    A simple matter to install it in the rear brake line by the Master cylinder

    Plug the lines going to the LSPV in case you ever want to return to stock

    5100's all around, 2.75 inch lift, polyurethane body mounts, gibson exhaust, variation of the deckplate mod, intake resonators removed 285-75-16 goodyear AT
    I just did this as I had to replace a rusted out rear brake line. I plugged up the spot where the line returns from the proportioning valve into the front brakes (3way connector on the frame drivers side). Then I ripped out the 2 lines going to the proportioning valve and tossed the valve as well. Where the valve was I put one of those adjustable aftermarket valves so that the rear brakes get about 60% of the available beaking power. With the front brakes now isolated from the rear I find braking is better and if another line rots out I won't lose brakes completely which is what happened to me when the rear line rotted away.

    Ohhh ok thanks for the response guys....

    any one have pics of what the set up looks like after taking out the valve.... just want to have a visual aid of how to rig mine up
