Seems if I had to do this to a 2015 pro I would be returning to the dealership and asking for answers? Anyone tried this approach?

Not sure where your from, but if you scraped up any frame metal or had to hammer the bushing back in it could cause premature rust. At least in my parts the winter driving conditions cause chemical mixtures in every nook and cranny. Scratch frame is the perfect place for some cancer to start. Just wondering as I am about to buy a tacoma and this would be a major concern for me. I hate frame rust, but here it is inevitable if you own a vehicle for 10 years

Lower Control arm bolts are a design flaw too..they can freeze solid with rust in the bushing sleeve making it impossible to move. New trucks should have bolts removed and treated with anti seize grease.

How is it a design flaw? Toyota gets to sell you 2 new LCA's and labour so you can get your alignment done. If you are sucker enough.

I wish they made the Taco as tough as the Hilux!! Fully boxed frame and metal bed like the old trucks.

Had a weird clunk noise when backing out into the street. Always thought it was the Leer topper. Nope, loose bed mounts, passenger side worse than drivers. Easy fix. Thanks!

Hey that's my video with the grinder! That was after taking it to the Toyota dealer and getting no help! It did come loose again. Same spot. Passenger side near the cab. This time I put a 1 inch washer between the bed and frame. Good to go! No more loose bed.

these trucks are delicate flowers now. Kind of ready to get rid of mine already. these aren't even trucks. More like cars with beds. Sad.

True in some instances...especially since I have to put a steel plate in my tailgate otherwise it'll bend

At our shop theres a foresty company who runs alot of tacos, we see this problem on almost half of their trucks, they are all 100% off road and they drive em with a renters attitude - Its a rental dont be gentle-

Our fix for a few of the bad ones was counter sinking a metal disc into the bottom of the bed using heat and securing it with the plastic welder. Some are just too far gone lol.
Added one of those rubber discs from leaf springs to my truck

Are the sleeves removable? If they are, can they be taken out from the top after bolt is removed? I seem to recall the last time I had the bed bolts out to regrease, the sleeves seem pretty solid.

They are but once the box is worn down like ops pics theres not much you can do, its not a problem of the sleeves wearing but the plastic box its self wearing causing the sleeves to be extended passed the bed.

Quick fix at that point)by no means would this be permanent) is to cut the sleeves shorter and re-tighten it back down.

If you tighten the box without them you will crush the bed. All in all its a pretty poor design on toyotas part. Should have reinforced where the bed meets the frame.

This whole problem could have been eliminated by Toyota by adding an isolator between the bed and frame, for about $2.00.

The sleeves themselves are yet another design fault. If you pull a bed bolt out and look at the sleeves you will see that they are shaped like a cup. Water in the bed will seep under the bolt head, and collect in the cupped space and corrode the bolts. Ask me how I know!

This happened to me after I put a d-ring under one of the bolts which I later removed and found the issue.

I've cleaned the bolt, applied a coat of grease and sealed under the bolt head /washer with roofing sealant to stop that from happening again.
