    Those look like really slick washers. Does 1/4" have any visual impact to the body lines matching between the cab and box? Even if so I bet they'd work fine as a small body lift under the cab, too.

    Just surfing around McMaster, these look interesting.

    They are polyurethane cushioning washers, durometer of 40A, so not very firm, maybe a bit less than an Energy Bushing body mount. They also have spring bushing that are 95A, which would be firm.

    No noticeable difference in how the bed sits. As far as the cab goes, I wouldn’t suggest that. I replaced my OEM cab mounts with poly bushings.

    I removed the passenger front bolt (where the thump was coming from) and just loosened the other 5. Used a pry-bar between the frame and the bed to lift it enough to get the washer in there. In order to make sure that the metal mount sleeve goes through the large hole in the washer, find the lightest person you can (with at least one good eye) to look down the hole while you position the washer. When they tell you it has disappeared, drop the bed. Re-torque bolts and call it good.

    My process was basically this with the exception that (if memory serves) I used something like a big screwdriver or socket extension as a centering tool to position the washer before dropping the bed since I was working alone.

    A delrin washer would work too. Easy to find, east to drill/machine to the right size!
    I actually did a body lift with homemade delrin washers and have had no issues in 5 years. The delrin is soft enough to prevent this, and I lifted the cab to match.

    Has anyone had their bedsides come loose? one side has an extreme amount of freeplay (basically can blow in the wind). I've noticed some small plastic plugs are missing, but surly theres something more that holds it in place? I haven't had a chance to check because we just got dumped on with 2 feet of snow and its quite unpleasent out lol

    I thought that when I looked at the pictures. and someone mentioned spraying w/ WD40. if there's rubber in the connection assembly, I would use silicone or Boshield.

    You are spraying the exposed threads under the bed. Over time road grime gums up the threads. Guys are spraying them to clean the threads out before removing the bolts. If you don’t your forcing all the gunk through the threads making your job harder and possibly stripping something.

    That's correct but he was referring to something I said earlier trying to diagnose it.

    And to that point he would be correct, WD40 probably wouldn't be the proper lubricant since it would break down rubber over time. Not sure if it's any worse than road salt and grime, so the actual material used in body mounts is probably pretty impervious to a lot of solvents. But still it is probably safer to use silicone or Boeshield.

    In my case it didn't and couldn't solve the fundamental problem anyway, so it was something I only did the one time.

    This used to happen on my 2nd gen quite a bit. Frame flex from trails is partly the cause. I fixed the problem by removing each bolt to clean and applying Red Lock-Tite to each bolt. I also torqued each bed bolt to 66.5 ft. lbs.

    Bilstein 5100's on all four corners. Front set @ 0 with OME 883x coils. Alcon leaf springs. Viper Alarm. Wet Okole seat covers. WeatherTech Floor liners front and back. Oem Toyota chrome exhaust tip. ARE Shell. America Outlaw Wheels.
    So is this a problem only if you have a shell or rack? Or is it a problem with all 2nd gen tacoma? I am asking because just befor I installed my shell I checked all the bed bolts and they were all tite. I just checked aftering reading this thread and all 6 bolts were loose after having the shell for 2 1/2 years. Also if you keep the bolts torqued to specs will that help?
