Impressive they’re already outselling the Colorado after what, a year on the market?

Only saw one new ranger on the road so far and a few colorado's. Its more like 30-1 taco's to those other here. I even had a guy chase me down in a durango to the stores parking lot i went to shop at. Asked me how liked my new dakota. I just laughed and showed him the tacoma name on the tailgate and tonneau cover. Then i got a strong whiff of pot coming from him or his vehicle. Explains it all.

If you drive a ranger it will become clear why. It's like Ford had to make something, but didn't really want to. I was certainly not impressed with the ranger.

Not at all impressed with the ranger. Did you see the stock rake on that thing? Stink Bugging for sure

Even the tundra has doing better lately here. I've seen more new ones than anytime in the past. Still a crapshoot between the other full-size trucks. Been amazed how many new rams now on the road.

I agree with you on that but, i was impressed with the Rangers ecoboost powertrain and auto. But it is still uncertain what the longevity will be on that truck, powertrain etc.
We already know Tacos are pretty much bullet proof for the most part, so no surprises there.

I can't believe how expensive the Rangers are. It's like 40k for the cheapest one, most of them are mid 40s. Blinged out ones are over 50k.

Went to price one before I bought the Tacoma. Was impressed by the numbers on engine and transmission. UGLY in person. Almost 10k more than it should have been priced. Walked off the lot.

I owned several Rams over the years, never had any major issues with them. This time it was either a Ram, or the tacoma.
Tacoma won because i wanted a smaller truck this time, and Ram dealers were not doing decent deals in my area.
I ended up with a good deal and 0% on the tacoma, so the taco went home with me.

It appears that Ford knew the Ranger wasn't a competitor to the Tacoma, they released a 10 year old vehicle design from Australia...and yes I know that the Tacoma inherited some bits and pieces from pre 2016 Tacoma but i think the Tacoma is a far superior vehicle to anything out there at the moment...it looks like in the future more and more vehicles will go the hybrid way, forced induction...not my thing...

I agree, the ranger i drove was 32,000, and still too much money imo.
I also agree with one of the prior posts that the ass end is way too high on the ranger, steering was way too light also. They did do alot of things half assed for sure.

Ford sold 1,240,000 trucks last year.

Toyota sold 248,900 Tacos and 111,000 Tundras

    Nobody cares

    Drive what you want

Most Tacos aren't even sold...Leased and Toyota still owns them. Fake news ;-)

    The inside was atrocious too.
I looked at a Colorado also and the dealer was practically throwing it at me for the price he was giving. I just couldn't shake the lack of faith I had in GM longevity.

So you're saying a Ranger with a 40k msrp which is basically a loaded 4x4 lariat should be priced at 30k msrp? Come on now.

I agree with you on the looks but i think it is priced competitive for the class. All of the midsized trucks are imo overpriced. 30k doesn't buy you much nowadays unless you want a basic truck, and in that case the ranger has a starting price of 24k which still gets you the turbo 2.3 and 10sp. 40k is a top of the line lariat.

Was more than 40. Paid 30 for the Tacoma. I did what was best for me. I was trying to get the blackout.

The Rams are nice. If I didn't go for the taco, for it's size, I would be driving a Ram.

Yup. The interior put me off. Certainly didn't help that the steering wheel was rubbing on the plastic trim on the one I test drove.

Best part was when the salesman asked me what I thought, and I told him it had a super rough ride, and the interior had a bunch of plastic parts rubbing, he just rolled his eyes at me, and blew me off as a tire kicker.
