I'll likely move elsewhere to experience quasi-city life or at least bigger town life. I've wanted to go to Victoria for a really long time now but rental prices are out of this world if you want something okay with a yard and pet friendly.

I got it on this website called etsy. Very nice quality. I think the company that makes them is called rusty nail.

Why don’t you get the details before you comment. $44690.00 window sticker plus $7422.00 in extras not on the build sheet not counting labor I would have to pay because I don’t mount tires, install lifts, upper control arms, or exhaust systems. Not to mention the time to run around getting stuff installed and the hassle of trying to sell the take-offs. And 0% interest for the 5 year term.

    B30DC83D-18A3-4BAE-A74D-738B9DA99538.jpg

Seems there has been some confusion, The list of upgrades and accessories that I listed on the window sticker are not what I paid (or maybe they are depends on how you look at it) but a list of what it would cost to add each of those items buying them after the time of purchase not counting install. No I didn’t go out and pay for a TRD shift knob for 140.00. But that is what you would pay for it from Toyota. Can’t/won’t justify this purchase any longer, the upgrades are nice and I love my truck.

That's just his opinion after working on cars for 40+ years. The truth is they're very complicated engines that deal with extremely high internal pressures. You can find people with all kinds of different cars that have had no issues but the truth is still that different power plants are higher risk for issues than others. My neighbor's turbo Ranger needed 2 throttle bodies before 50k miles, that's not saying that's the norm but it still happened. I'm in the never buy camp for Ecoboost engines, mainly because I drive vehicles hard. If I drove cars gently or just did endless miles on the highway maybe I wouldn't worry about reliability so much. I would buy a V8 F150 though.

Is that supposed to prove that dealerships don't love you? It's your money but let me tell you, I had quotes on fully loaded 2020 TRD Pros for way less than that a couple months ago.

I like the Spec 1 and accessories they installed better than what is on the Pro or I would have bought a Pro. This has everything a Pro has save LED headlights and I get a moon roof which I like.

I hear you man. I am the same way, dont really like stickers on vehicles. Had no stickers on any of my previous vehicles. I just had to get this one for the taco.

My work clipboard and my laptop is covered in stickers though haha.

TRD Pro comes with a moon roof as far as I know. I understand what you're saying but wouldn't it make more sense financially to get the pro? You could even swap out the tires and suspension (sell the old stuff to me) and be around the same price. And the best part is, when you drive it off the lot the pro is worth way more than the OR.

I still think of Rangers as that ugly as fuck, yet bulletproof, old little trucks in that terrible green color that no one wants.

The less options you have, the longer it lasts. How many S10s have you seen lately? I still see shitty Rangers everywhere. No Dodge Dakotas though. Those went to the junkyard over a decade ago.

Can haul twice its listed capacity as long as you don't exceed 30 mph or you can't stop.

Parts cheap as hell, but the clutch is almost impossible to bleed.

That's a ranger. This new thing just looks fragile to me.

These new Fords are terrible on wheel bearings, suspension bushings, and other wear items that seem to last decades on the older stuff and can't make it out of warranty on the new stuff. Plus these eco-boost engines are great in the EPA test but the 5.0 gets much better gas mileage in real world use probably because the EPA test is all done carefully without getting into any boost.

Ford doesn't make stuff like they used to. I got a fiesta in the driveway with 60k miles on its 4th transmission and 3rd set of wheel bearings. Every time we take it in, in addition to the 5-6 Focus/Fiestas getting new transmissions there are at least 2-3 F150s getting wheel bearings or some other suspension work done under warranty. I understand a wheel bearing is $15, but its not a 5 minute install like brake pads. You would think they would make them stronger for such a heavy vehicle.

That being said, I have an AC leak in that shitty old ranger so I bought a whole new AC system for $260 but am procrastinating the condenser replacement because I hate taking the fan off the engine.

Comparing the reliability of Toyota stuff to Ford stuff there is no comparison. More complicated, more problems.

The Ranger seats are thinner in profile, where the Explorer seats are much thicker so they take up a lot more room in the cab. Its not doable in the regular cab unless you are 5 foot tall. Finding bucket seats out of a 2010 ranger sport is pretty hard as everyone wants them.

Well, the Caddiyak ATS was designed on the future Camaro platform and they didn't put a V8 in there or a manual transmission and then they killed the caddy when no one bought it. Just because they can, doesn't mean they will.

The old rangers are so basic that you can go to a junkyard and pickup accessories so cheap. Anything from a ranger or a sport track just plugs right in. I swapped the engine after the ex wife blew it up and I plugged in the cluster just to see if it would work and it did, perfectly. Then I had a tachy-o-mater. Those old shitty rangers are just so simple you have to appreciate that.
