My understanding you can’t. Once you have gone to the 04B04 file system your stuck with it. You can only use B04 flashes.

??? can't say but I am waiting for 1.05 on my 04B03 because I don't want to let the dealer tell me they can't reproduce or otherwise duplicate issues. If you have 1.04 just wait for 1.05 from Mat and save yourself a trip to the dealer. JMO. and honestly I don't have the issues described in latest Dealer TSB so 1.05 is the best way to go.

You can use 1.04R1. That’s the whole purpose of it.

1.04R is for 04B04. He thinks he can back flash to a 04B03 file.

I bought 33s a few days before I installed the tune. It's way better than stock.

I knew I could not flash back to 04B03 file. Just wondering if any of the new TSB would be incorporated into 1.04R1 file that is supposed to drop soon for dongled users. After some more digging it looks like the new TSB will be incorporated into 1.04R1

You are correct, that is what Mr. Wilson has done. You will have to send an email to him and request the new file if he doesn’t already know and have you on the distribution list.

Mat's recent post stated for dongle users to wait for a File Manager (FM) update.

Ease for Mat I guess??. Flashing with dongle is super easy in that the file just has to be released in flash manager or directly via a link in one of these threads. Download and go, no waiting for an email or possibly getting missed. TBH I didn't like the email releases back in the early days. Mad scramble to be heard if you didn't get a file, and of course a whole bunch of ppl vying for Mat's attention all at once. You were better off just waiting out for 24hrs, let the feeding frenzy die down, then try again. Ah memories lol.

Edit: Oh, and you M/T guys will remember we were always second, with 04B10 being dead last... Except for that one time, when we almost gave Mat a heart attack .

@OVTune Mat- just a quick question in all this chaos. Since I'm running an 0B02 ECU, I'll just wait until your 1.05 tune releases to get the 0B04 goodies. My question is this- when my friendly dealer hooks up Techstream after 1.05, will it still show my ECU as 0B02? I just don't want the tech to feel he's doing me a favor and overwriting 1.05 with the stock 0B04.

Thanks for an excellent product and outstanding customer service.

I'm not sure if your ECU would read 04B04 or not but even if they wrote over it you could just reflash 1.05 again

And I was letting him know that he can flash 1.04R1 over the new TSB and regain the benefits of the OV tune, along with the improvements made by the TSB.

Will be getting all remaining files out today, and will give a brief explanation of what is changed and not for 04B04.

    Note, for 04B04 1.04R

things changes are all torque controls, torque model maps excluding the one toyota changes on this TSB, changed to airflow modeling / throttle / torque etc.

Transmission learn models have been set like previous 1.04

Intake valve timing / exhaust valve timing changed

    and multiple other things.

Some of the shifting tables have NOT been changed due to how Toyota has modified them in 04B04.

    *** 2018 04A61 is not ready yet ***

I will be putting this ECU version on my R&D truck to finalize 1.05 (release still a few weeks out)

if anyone has any problems, issues, concerns, questions, anything at all please let me know.

No, just not quite finished yet.

04B04 is out to many people by now. Any questions / concerns, feedback please let me know. This is a revised version some of the shift tables are different.

Also want to state again this does not affect 1.05 development.
