Any speculation as to how much boost we're talking about with the "stage 1" kit?

@OVTune - just contacted you via email again about getting a new registration file due to the motherboard on my computer crapping out and it being replaced under warranty, hence a new system ID. I first contacted you 30 JUL about the issue, but haven't gotten any sort of response between a few follow-up emails and two private messages on this forum. Can I please get an answer of some sort? Thanks.

I have been waiting on my developer to return, he's been out of office for a few days. I expect he will be back mon-tues. Sorry I don't see your PMs on here.

Also I'm on a flight at the moment and out of office until the 15th morning

All I want for Labor Day is 1.05, cold beer and to relax. Just saying. That is not far off on the calendar.

Has anyone heard how long the Dongle tune owners have to wait after 1.05 is released to the Dongle less tune owners? I read that Dongle owners have to wait until Mat gets all the Dongle less owners all setup. But have not seen any time frame as to how long we have to wait. Should OV Tune just update all the Dongle owners to the Dongle less version so we don't get left out at some point! I am sure OV tune will stop updating the Dongle owners at some point! With having to deal with 2 forms of Tuning will become troublesome for Mat at some point if it hasn't already! Waiting for 1.05 and all it has to offer!!!!!! :hattip:

He hasn't even released 1.05 to anyone yet, and I don't think he'd leave out dongle users since there's so many of us

I do not expect delays for 1.05 any version.

All these new TSB update files that came out, there is not going to be an updated flash manager until 1.05.
Reason is more and more versions are popping up now. I'd be updating too many times, will just cause confusion.

Also if you ordered a kit recently and did not get an email with tracking please email support@ovtune.zendesk.com my site is being stupid again.

Okay, like many others, I used the file linked in this thread, along with TechStream, to update my ECU and TCU from OVTuning's 1.04-91 to Toyota's 04B0400 and 0401400, respectively.

While there has definitely been a loss of torque and power, the improvement in shifting smoothness has been HUGE. I've only driven 10 miles so far, but the clunk and jerkiness felt when powering out of a turn is GONE. Likewise, the clunk and jerkiness felt if one is braking for a stop light, and then the light turns green and you release the brake and hit the accelerator, is GONE.

I trust that Mr. Wilson will preserve the shifting smoothness that Toyota has FINALLY given us, while adding his magic to the mix. Honestly, if my truck (2016) ran like this from the factory, I never would have been compelled to OVTune it. But having experienced that torque and HP upgrade provided by OVTuning, I am looking forward to 1.05. Today, however, I would trade 1.04 for Toyota's newest iteration, giving back torque and power for shifting smoothness. The transmission no longer operates horribly.

Thanks to all here for posting your experiences with Toyota's TSB, and for the necessary file for the upgrade. I am really looking forward to what OVTuning adds in 1.05.

I’m pretty sure most of the soft shifting everyone is enjoying coulda been done by Matt a long time ago but it’s a performance tune and with a performance tune comes increased line pressure for quicker firmer shifting.

Couldn’t agree more. The shifting has gone from being the worst I’ve ever experienced (stock) to one of the smoothest transmissions I’ve owned. No lie. I’m looking forward to getting the power back without a doubt but I’m not at all unhappy with what Toyota finally has given us to work with. Why it took them 3 years....?!

I'm not sure that what you say is true. All along, Matt has emphasized that ours is a 'driveablility' tune, and not necessarily a performance tune.

Matt certainly did improve the smoothness of our transmissions a great deal, but Toyota has gone a great deal further. All the way to what every other automatic transmission achieved from the factory. :)

Most drivers who follow this thread still prefer that the shift points be moved up to higher rpm levels, and that the 'learning' does not degrade how the tranny performs when we floor the accelerator. As long as OVTune keeps the logic which results in the smoothness of 04B0400, while fooling the learning feature and increasing the shift points at moderate loads and throttle position, 1.05 is sure to please the majority of us here on TacomaWorld.

Most isn't everyone. Im stock(with OVtune) I commute. Traffic never really gets above 50mph for any length of time. Mostly around 30-40mph. I still manually shift this thing into 5th cause it hangs around in 4th too long. I think it still hangs onto 3rd for too long as well. Lower shift points are fine with me. I just don't want this thing going into 6th until 60mph.
