i suspect this is true. if Mat still needs to reverse engineer, he's just been given an entirely new and much cleaner starting point.

Well, that's IF the stupid highway driving behavior changes dramatically in 1.05. I'd even pay extra to have a tune where it will stick in 5th gear at 70-80mph. If not, then the Ranger Raptor will get test driven thoroughly and considered. Time will tell.

Doesn't stop it from downshifting to 4th gear. Trust me I've tried everything I can think of.

So you want it to stay in 5th, when 6th is more appropriate for the speed, but you don't want it to go down to 4th?

    I'm confused.

The thing rarely ever shifts up into 6th gear unless its going downhill on the highway. What's needed is the ability to make it stay in 5th gear since that gear has enough torque to climb a small hill, deal with wind, or maintain speed. If it could stay in 5th or 6th gear, that would be perfect, but 6th is pretty much useless due to the severe lack of torque output of this motor below 2000 rpms. So that's why I'd say 5th gear. If it held 5th gear, it would get better gas mileage than constantly shifting down to 4th gear, running 3500 rpms, being loud/annoying, and killing highway fuel economy. If it could hold 6th gear, that would be amazing, but it will never happen without boost.

I drove 30 miles today, going up and down small hills at 70-75 mph today and never it left 6th. You must be carrying a ton of extra weight.

Edit: oh yeah, I got 22 mpg doing it.

I didn't have success with TS 12.20.24 on my truck. It'd connect and stuff but I couldn't even access TPMS or seat belt chime settings. I went with 12.10.19 and it works fine. I just found a link somewhere and used it but I'm fairly certain it was from the sight you referenced

Yes I used TS v12.20.24 on my windows 10 to update my truck. Other older versions are also on the same site. But now I'm using newest v13.1

I agree. Just try using cruise control - when I see a hill coming up i disengage it just for this reason (especially if I have a passenger, because it sounds like the friggin squirrel cage engine is going to blow). 1.04 made it better holding onto 5th, so i disengage CC, hold the peddle half way and just allow it to go a few mph slower up hills in 5th, but I hope 1.05 fixes it better so I can actually us CC - like while in CC allow the truck to go a few MPH below the set speed before it downshifts (it seems like it downshifts as soon as its 1 mph below whatever speed it was set to, then if 2mph below it downshifts again, maybe let it go 5mph under the set speed before it starts downshifting?)
