    So, theoretically, since he's put turbos on his truck, 1.05 may be the last version of the tune since his R&D truck would be running a completely different tune. Unless he gets a new r&d truck

    That’s a good point. However, I would imagine the non-twin-turbo customer base would still be the majority; I can’t imagine him abandoning that base if there are still improvements to be made.

    Here's the thing -

    Mat has said the upcoming tune will incorporate the changes Toyota made in the latest TSB releases. Lets use 04B13 as an example. You DL and flash OVtune 1.05 91 for 04B11. Does that mean:

    A. The 04B11 in your cal ID is just a label, and what you're actually getting is full 04B13 with Mat's enhancements; OR

    B. The 04B11 in your cal ID is valid, the 1.05 91 tune is actually 04B11 code with Mat's enhancements, including the changes he found in 04B13.

    There's a difference.

    @OVTune ?

    04B13 OEM is, I hate to say it, smoother and easier to drive than any version of OVtune I've had on my truck (and obviously way better than what my truck came with). That's not a shot at Mat, it's just as he said.. Toyota has all the "cheat sheets" and knows what every bit of their cal does. OEM does not have the power and snappy throttle response of OV, obviously.

    While I'm at it, I guess I should also ask this:

    In 1.04A, were all three M/T calibrations using the same underlying code? Was my 04B10 actually 04B12? I only know Mat overcame the initial problems tuning 04B10 but I don't recall being told how. Not that it's necessary for me to know, but it would put to rest some of these arguments.

    B13 is better than B12 as well. It’s definitely an improvement over all the stock tunes. I had a LOT of miles on 1.04a and there are definitely things I like about B13 over 1.04A.

    This is another set of data for Matt to use which is only going to make it even better going forward. Odds are there are changes in parts of the code Matt hasn’t even begun to tweak that Toyota did… because they wrote the code and know what everything is.

    Not sure you can. Think you have to purchase a new tune package. But I could be wrong.....

    Kicker is, price drops to $4654.32 for Black Friday but sell out in 2 mins and is on back order for 8 months and everyone is now waiting on hardware and posting their order numbers and dates complaining about wait times

    Mostly stuff I built.
    I did. I got really sick of the off and on pre ignition knock that I have had from day one with my truck. The 04b11 is every bit as wonky as the 04b10 just in its own ways.
