Turbos are actually very efficient if tuned properly. They help emissions, horsepower, and gas mileage... but only if tuned properly.

 

Well, that's also due to the microstamping thing, which is more impossible to consistently do properly without a large margin of error, rather than simply expensive

 

You're thinking small capacity engines or the 3.5l ecoboost... this isn't the same situation.

He HAS to add more fuel to the engine for these turbos, and these turbos won't be kicking in at 1400rpm like a Ford Focus

 

Any of those laws still don't stop a criminal from getting a gun though. So all the laws do is punish the rest of us.

 

Mat expects to have 7psi of boost at 2500rpm. Also, turbos actually do help improve fuel economy, as long as you don't smash the gas pedal

In case you haven't noticed, there is no topic in here. This is thread is originally for the tune. That's it. Everything else has been going on the whole time. Read it all if you want to.

 

The tune is about 5-600 of the 1100 pages, the rest is pure BS

 

It was more about avoiding going down the "gun laws" road

 

I just wish we could see some CARB compliant turbo options for us folks who UNFORTUNATELY live in california or other states with strict emission laws, Especially since were going to be paying a hefty price. I think Matt should bite the bullet and do it and just add it into the total cost of the turbo kit that way hes not loosing money and would essentially be gaining more customers By expanding his audience! My 2cents

 

Exactly. I bought the tune a while ago and have the dongle. I kept reading through this when I had questions and it was impossible to keep up. I was hoping @OVTune would make a read only thread that only he can edit. That way he could add useful post and cut out the garbage. But he's busy too. It is what it is.

 

I think this has been answered, but yes, others have flashed back to stock. Unfortunately this tune is unlike Cobb or others, there’s no install management. Matt has no way of knowing if the tune was left on a truck or not. His current licensing process ties the tune to your ECU. My Cobb on the other hand... just like you said. Flashed back to stock and sold car and Cobb separately.

 

2 turbo kits. One reasonably priced for people who don’t live in the shitty states. One priced for those in the states that outlaw fun with all the stickers and other super important documents so it’s “legal”.

Haha! No2 is as useful as an antilag setup. I wouldnt run either unless i was racing for some good money!
