Exactly what I'm saying. Happens to me during traffic on a highway and i'm trying to switch lane so I press on the gas so that the car behind don't hit me from behind and it just does not go.

    Thanks Mat,

Looking forward to it. I am the designer for large development teams that do complex code. I get the struggle so take your time and do what you do bro

If I can pitch in...the sweet spot would be a blend of 1.03 and 1.04 for throttle response and tip in

Can you elaborate more on this "bricked" ECU? is there a post/thread about it?

I have no problem using ECT, I just got used to not using it with the 04B04 that I want 1.0x to pretty much behave almost the same. I really enjoy the improved throttle response from Toyota without using ECT. I hope 1.05 can cure most of what ails the taco...just my 2cents, otherwise I love the truck!

There's been a handful of threads about someone bricking their ecu, mainly because they try to do a tsb update on their own and it messes up. One guy tried to do a tsb himself and said his truck wouldn't crank, the ecu wouldn't let him reconnect, and a few warning lights came up on the dash. I don't have the threads off the top of my head

That was using techstream not PCM flash. OVT was also able to fix that ECU.

This is probably the recent thread you're thinking of. In the end, ECU was resurrected. By none other than Mat (OVTune).

That's not the one, the one I'm talking about was almost a year ago, probably 10 months or so. Besides, I never said a bricked ECU couldn't be fixed, I only define a bricked ECU as an ecu that doesn't work

can you link the thread? Was this a OVTune flash or Techstream flash?

From an IT perspective, bricked is generally used for devices that cannot be saved...ie, they are now only as useful as a brick (or a paperweight). If it is screwed up, but can still be reprogrammed/reflashed/repurposed for other uses, then it's not dead yet (not bricked). ;)
