I emailed previously (not knowing that it wasn’t yet available for the 18s). I have not received any correspondence on it. Should continue to wait on that ticket, or start a new one?

 

So if one has not done the TSB update, then this is not needed or rather wont even work, correct?

 

won't even work, is my understanding. it requires that to be installed, so you're legit 04B13.

1.05 is said to have it all wrapped up as one. the tune could possibly change some by the time it's released.

It may just me, but with 1.04r, when I floor it in first, I get a sensation of it choking for a couple hundred rpms, it’s not jittery or stumbling, just a bit of choking/hesitation going on...

Nope. I would rather not mess with tech stream to force an update since I am not familiar with it and from what I hear, using it CAN brick your ECU.

 

I concur with this. I was on 1.04 93...then I flashed to 0B04 (87 obviously). Overall I was unimpressed with 0B04 as I posted here, and had a scary situation with the truck falling flat on it's face so I requested and installed 1.04R 87. I did that Friday. Today I took a trip to the North GA mountains that used to drive me NUTS in this truck because it shifted so much (down/up/down/down/up/down/up) just trying to maintain 70mph on cruise control. This is the first time I've taken this particular trip that I didn't want to crucify the eng/trans. Its still shifted more than I'd like, but it was for the first time, what I'd consider tolerable. @OVTune continues to impress me more with each iteration. I think I can finally say that I don't hate my truck anymore. I know I'm pickier than most, but I'm quite impressed with 1.04r 87 from a highway driving perspective. I expect it will be good for commuting as well, but I'll report back if it isn't. I'll find out this week. I'm looking forward o 1.05, but honestly, even if it didn't get any better (and assuming commuting is as good as the highway work), I could live with 1.04R long term. Thanks @OVTune.

Side note, just finished 1500ish miles of towing with 04b13. I gotta say, it did better than I was expecting. Will be interested to see the difference with 1.04r and 1.05

Well…04b13 was MUCH improved over 04b12 and before so I can only imagine the tune is going to be that much better as well
