I have a 2018 TRD 4X4 OffRoad, automatic, with crawl mode. I am interested in the OVTune. Is it difficult to flash the Module? Is it sort the $770? I would want to use the 87 Octain fuel, I’m a tight old Ba****d. Do I need to have my vin number, rear end ratio etc.

Worth EVERY penny. Easy to flash. I just did an updated file, took maybe 4 minutes to flash. Since you are flashing a fresh file, Matt has recommenced to let it idle for 5-10 minutes so the computer can relearn some baseline numbers. So, all together you are about 15 minutes and ready to drive.

Plus, its getting easier to download and flash with 1.05 and his new flash manager software in the pipeline.

What @2016trdtacoma said. Plus, there's nothing wrong with running the 87 map. Each subsequent 87 octane map has been better and better, and plenty of people run it. It's all @Shellshock uses because he drives like 1700mi everyday and sometimes doesn't know what octane he'll have available to him when needing to fuel up

Have you gotten the TSB yet? I would start there and if you still aren't happy then move over to OVTune, especially if you don't plan to take advantage of the 91/93 tune.

    This.
I'm however loving the 91. A world of difference. Even for this cheapskate.

Yup I sure do. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything by not running 91. There is still a very noticeable difference in drivability compared to stock.

I think we may offer a bench TSB Reflash for people. More people are messing up ECUs trying to TSB flash at home.
We also have a recovery service for dead ecus.

I found it to be pretty straightforward and it went smoothly. Not calling anyone stupid either, just was painless. I thought that the only person to mess up their ECU was someone on a Mac using VM, has this been the case with others? Or is the TS software not playing nice for some windows users now too? Could be useful info if it's just a specific group of users with some sort of common denominator

Is it just a voltage thing that's causing the TSB flashes to fail? The process of using that flash wizard seems like the easiest thing to do... but I guess since it doesn't have the same protections a failure is really a failure?

If I had remembered to mention that I’m an AT in my ZenDesk request (I just asked for 1.04R), I think I’d have gotten it by now.

TSB flash went smoothly for me too. I did hook up a battery tender to the truck battery and disabled power saving sleep modes, and wifi on my laptop. Hardest part was installing Techstream but instructions with the zip file were good

I got through the TSB instructions too. I probably would have aborted if I knew people were hosing their ECUs though. Yikes

Why can't people just WAIT for v1.05???

Another week or two of waiting is not worth the risk of blowing up an ECU. Even if Mat can recover it, it takes time away from his day (and night) job of finishing 1.05

For everyone asking, we will send file updates, tune files, A61 etc to your email ticket. No need to resend or request again.

There are still some tune files and new ecu versions we are working on. Which we will send out as soon as possible.
If you have not heard from us yet, please be patient I'm going as quickly as possible.

Once again threatening us is not necessary, we are going as quick as we can. Please understand we are a 2 person team, and sending updates while building support for an ever growing community is difficult and time consuming work.

Once we have these pending orders out likely I'll be shutting down tune kits until after 1.05 is finished.
I've also seen the new affected area for the hurricane and I'm trying to get some things prepared so I may be unavailable later this week.

If you emailed us we have it, we see it, it's in our ticket system. If you haven't got a reply it does not mean you're being ignored.
