Received my Tactrix cable today but the Flash Manager folder is empty. I'm assuming I just have to wait for the new flash manager (and 1.05) to be released?

Yes... same here. But your question was how to get the TSB. You can go to the dealer and beg, or you can use Techstream and your dongle (and pray), or you can wait for v1.05 from Mat. I chose the latter option.

I don’t want the tsb that makes it so I can’t flash back to 1.03,1.04, stock etc. supposedly Mats 1.05 will still allow that...not sure if fact or fiction

One person who tried to flash from a VM on a macbook had their ECU flash fail with the TSB. There are hundreds of others who have done this just fine. Ive flash 10-15 myself with no issues. Dont be an idiot when flashing and you are going to be fine. Do it from a windows laptop. Turn all the things off. Put on a battery tender if you want too. I didnt on any of the ones i flashed. There is minimal risk and there is no need to pray.

I have also done it several time running Windows via Bootcamp on a MacBook. Goes smoothly every time

That’s what I’m considering doing. Any problems using a USB C to USB adapter? I’m gonna guess no but want to check before I go buy another laptop just to flash

I’ve always done PCM flash via bootcamp. TS I put in a VM cuz I didn’t want to blow up my tuning windows install if I ran into problems.

I’ve done tons of work on way more expensive equipment via vm and never had an issue :notsure:

Bootcamp is all good since the OS has direct access to the hardware. The VM just introduces additional possible issues due to the hardware abstraction layer between the OS in the VM and the hardware that is doing the read/write to your ECU.

Yes but with a good hypervisor it shouldn’t matter. There’s definitely a difference between using VMware fusion or a free product to do your virtualization.

    When facing my MacBook,

I put the small serial USB chip into the right port, and the OBD dongle with cord on the left

I haven't seen anywhere that @OVTune has indicated that would be possible. Do you have a link?

@OVTune with 1.05 will the people with older ecus be able to flash back to previous tunes? Yes or no

I have a very cheap 2in1 tablet/laptop I use for flashing. Last time I flashed the tune I used the usb c adaptor from my MacBook as the regular USB ports are in the keyboard dock and the tablet portion has usb c. It worked perfectly.

Went back and read OVTune only posts. I have two questions for OVTune if you come across this post. Is 1.05 the final release, I noticed you said that 1.05 has to be perfect and also saw posts about how you're going to send out ECUs that would be tedious to update, it leads me to believe that 1.05 is the final, is that true? Also, now that it sounds like you've truly unlocked the motor, will you be putting it back on the dyno with 1.05 to show the new available power/curve? Thanks!
