You are talking about traction control... detects spin, kills power.

Auto LSD is a single press of the TC button and will brake a wheel that loses traction to give the other more power.

TC off lets your one wheel wonder truck spin that wheel for all it's worth.

Should I go in and let the asshole dealership dude drive my car around so I can get the tsb's done or just get the 1.05 and all my problems will be solved?

 

Well, if you can get them do it, and do it in a timely manner, no harm there. If not, then wait.

 

At first he gave me some attitude about how a tsb isnt a recall this and that so I told him I understand this, that all I want is the computer update so my truck will stop running like shit so finally he agreed to have my truck looked at and would have to be diagnosed the whole run around I said ok.. he wasnt happy about it

 

Ya, the dealerships are garbage! I hate every time I go there which is why I avoid it at all cost unless its an actually warranty issue. I do all my own maintenance and work on the truck for this reason.

 

So I just had the TSB done last week and am liking it. But then I’m realizing that when I installed 1.04 there was an ECU file but also a TCU file. So I’m running toyota ECU update with OV tune TCU file. Any issues with that @OVTune ??

 

You guys getting the TSB done at the dealer. Did you flash back to stock before you brought it in? I am still on 1.03 91 but have an appt for 35K service and to get TSB done.

The TSB updates them both as both calibration ID's change.

You dont have to ever flash back to stock ever unless you want to.

 

I just wondered if the dealer would notice the difference when they went to flash the ECU or if they would even notice for warranty purposes.

 

Ive taken mine in for all kinds of things and there isnt anyway for them to see since the calibration id's remain the same as stock.

And we'll see if the resale value is respectable, I don't know any other truck, full size or compact that I can buy for invoice, drive it for 9 months and sell it back to the dealership for invoice.
I did that with my 14 2nd gen!

 

So maybe I skimmed through that part of the user manual...perhaps I misunderstood that it keep the AutoLSD ON, while allowing a bit more power by not restricting engine power as it simultaneously turns Traction Control OFF...hence the indicator light showing "Trac OFF/AutoLSD ON"? Whereas upon engine start-up light is OFF because it always already has AutoLSD ON and just doesnt need to tell you...? Then holding button to ONLY activate Trac OFF while AutoLSD is also OFF making it have the engine power but keep Diff-open...am I wrong...?

 

Maybe I have affected something driving that way? But I didn't notice anything negative with its driveability all the way to when I traded-up to my current...
