Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Woah! An order of magnitude above what it takes for precision weapons guidance.

 

At 66,... in 18 months, now it’s parked in garage.

Bought a beater ranger with 99000 on it for my work truck. The sad thing is the 4 banger with an auto holds gears better at fwy speed vs the taco. Hopefully 105 will knock it out of the park. I’m can’t wait to do 90% throttle input in 5th or 6th without a downshift.

 

WtF is all this nonsense?

I don’t know why you guys think it will release on a Saturday. He likes to do releases on Sunday to lighten God’s load of answering prayers.

 

Alrighty guys, I spent all day yesterday testing out the final version of our logger,
more information will be available this evening. including change list for 1.05.
Also played around with a couple other tables.

So, our logger had to have a few things - 1. Easy to use (it's extremely simple). 2. Fast connection 3. Fast logging rate
We have met all our primary goals for our datalogger.


Also I really want to thank everyone for being patient with us. I really truly appreciate it. Being a small team we have never taken on projects of this magnitude before. I know we have missed some of our deadlines but the effort here is to make sure we bring you the absolute best solution for this platform. It's been a long road getting to this point from where we first started on our logger and custom tuning, and we are extremely excited to say it's done and start ramping up for release!

Logger looks great.

Any way to turn down the rate, for times we may only want like 1 hz for a long trip? (Maybe a future request, certainly no reason to hold release for that)

 

Currently there is no way to slow it down. But 1hz would be absolutely terrible.

 

Depends on what you want
If I want to just get water temp over a 1hr drive...

I do static testing at 1hz all the time. Of course when it is time for stuff exciting to happen, 1024 hz...

 

I would imagine you wouldn’t use this logger for any long trips. Seems to primary function would be to perform specific test patterns (hills, stop/go, WOT, highway, towing) for purposes of sending the data to Mat to fine tune timing, AFR, shifting to maximize performance for your truck

Was hoping that it would be another option besides techstream, which is not a very 'easy' solution for that... I may be the minority, but I enjoy looking at data later...

@OVTune will the price of the tune go up anytime soon.

 

Having a '16 has no bearing on that. Mine is an early '16 and I can change it to average mpg. IIRC mine was set on tank average when i bought it and I figured out how to change it.

 

I particularly appreciated the increased communication in the past 2 weeks. I know you're a small crew and those updates can really keep me going during the wait. I can't wait to read the release notes.

 

All the patience will be worth it. I can’t wait to feel the true potential of this truck and it’s “Lexus” engine
