You can. When Mat sent me 1.04R, he included the stock map for the updated ECU version

To confirm - we will NOT need the latest TSB when you release 1.05 correct?

    This is quite likely.

Programming is a pain because you can not, typically, just write code to execute this or that process. One must program to cover all variables, including unknowns, user errors, garbage data, test, revise, re-test etc.

He only has 1 of those he does not have to worry about, user error. Short of the install process the only inputs from the user are throttle, brake, fuel. in Exchange he now has to worry about other things like, misfires, detonation, user perception/opinion, fuel mix, fuel octane level......

Frankly, even if I had the skills required to dissect, analyze, and re-write the code; I know I do not have the required patience to deal with all of us. With our complaints, whines, and conflicting desires.... the man is rockin' some serious skills to be able to do all he does. :hattip:

    GOOD CHOICE!!!!!!

There are a lot of tuners in the market for Ford like bully dog, sct, mpt performance, etc... but never for a Tacoma NEVER! not even the two generations before..only the supercharger for the 4.0L.. I had been with you in this journey since the beginning and expecting for this moment that you are focusing in Toyota.... There are many people who modify their car since leaving the dealership and they will be looking for a performance tuner.. guess what ?????? You are the only one.. keep up with the good work! maybe in the future hire more people, build a bigger company do marketing to Canada and Mexico because there are a lot of tacoma owners in others countries who are waiting for an upgrade for better performance.

    regards.

Oh crap. I'm glad you mentioned that. I'm planning a trip to Moab next year but I'm running 93 here in Ohio, and will run the 93 tune when 1.05 comes out. Looks like I'll either have to carry octane booster or drop the tune down to 91.

Take your tuning laptop and change tunes when you need. Ive flashed due to lack of availability of octanes quite often in the mountains.

    Mostly stuff I built.
I am in for manual testing. Latest TSB and heavily modified with lots of extra weight.

That's a good idea. Also, I would add that they drive over 50 miles a day mix driving. I know I only do like 5 miles a day and that wont be as beneficial.

Huh? I've been running 87/1.04 for MONTHS and haven't experienced a single one of the issues you mention. Not one. 87/1.04 is leaps and bounds above the stock tune. I'd venture to say that something else was going on with your truck.

Would yall consider the 87 tune, the one to use if you are chasing mpgs? and 91/93 to get the power? I should probably flash and test it out. :) Only been on the 91 tune mostly

I've never run the 91/93 tune, so I can't really answer your question.

I'm running bone stock 18' off-road AT. Going in for my 5k maintenance in a week or two and they're going to check to see if I need the TSB update. Dunno if I can find 93, but I am at high elevation (Colorado Springs) if that matters.... Would love to help out however I can :D

All these people with 93 and I don't know that I've ever even seen this mythical creature aside from a time or two.

I'm seeing better mileage on the 91 map over the 87.

Auto with latest TSB on 1.04R and 93 octane. But have TRD intake/exhaust if you need that tested.
