Sorry guys, didn't get as much done this week development wise as I wanted to. Ran into some internal issues, blame apple. I do development on a Mac that runs windows. Switching platforms.

Anyways I will have a lot of pending files out tonight-tomorrow.

Some good news is we are done with all Lexus R&D on our tunable platforms so more Tacoma time!

Are you caught up on shipments... Or are orders still behind?
Is it free of charge to get new files once we upgrade performance parts?

Dongles made their way through customs, we should have the rest of the orders out next week. Should be no more delays from this point.

All of our standard updates are free.

Thanks Mat, I'm looking forward to getting 1.02 anyway, so the delay doesn't bother me too much.

Other than terrible throttle response with the stock tune, I'm not sure what he's talking about either. There was a problem with M/T trucks sticking in gear, but that was fixed by Toyota (TSB).

Edit: Oh yeah the clutch pedal squeaks sometimes, easily cured with some grease.

Took the family to the NOGA mountains from Atlanta today. First time of more than 20 miles consecutive HWY time (I have 1200 miles total) It's about 100 miles of highway of VERY slight hills up and down till you get to the foothills of the mountains. You probably go up about 600 feet of altitude total in that 100 miles (to give you an idea of the very slight rise over 100 miles). I tried to use cruise control. My wife, who knows NOTHING about how cars operate or should feel says to me about 1/2 way there: "What is wrong with your truck? It's like it doesn't know what it wants to do, it shifts up and down way too much. It's very annoying." It just so happens that on our way there and back we pass the dealer where I bought it. We then agreed (at her insistence) that we would stop at the dealer on the way home and talk to them about trading it on a Tundra (probably a $10-15K hit).

Then we got to the mountains and hit some USFS roads to get to some favorite swimming holes/rock waterslides and the truck was great. It was a good size for roads, the stock suspension was great, the engine response for that sort of driving in that RPM range was acceptable with a more deliberate throttle foot. No lack of power and it just worked. The only issue I noticed was a lack of engine breaking when coming to a stop on downhill sections. It was like the engine was getting a little squirt of fuel even though I was completely off the gas and I had to brake a bit harder. Even with that, I was really happy with the truck in that environment. I don't know if it was the placebo effect of driving on the USFS roads or the fact the HWY drive home descended 600 feet in 100 miles instead of ascending, but the cruise was noticeably less busy when it came to shifting. This makes me think more than ever that I can be happy with this truck with a tune, so we drove past the dealer. :)

    TL;DR version:

@OVTune Any ETA on the 87 tune...and also, can you confirm that if we buy an 87 tune we will also have access to 91 tune at no additional cost? If we can get this truck right, I plan on some sort of camping setup (Habitat or light weight travel trailer) and I would like a 91 tune for extra power on extended camping trips.

@OVTune if its not too much to ask, could you look into the feasibility of correcting/calibrating the odometer for larger diameter tires? I know its been asked several times, but I'm about to pull the trigger on the tune soon, and would like to know if its something that you will be working.

Yeah, if he can make that happen.. I'm 100% sold. And I bet other members with larger tires would now consider a tune just for this added benefit. Even if it was a small up-charge, its better than a $250 T harness Module that has to be installed behind the speedo. Yuck.

Well A it's illegal to not be accurate on your speedo/odo. But I don't like doing constant math while I'm driving.

1)Without correction it throws everything off; MPG dash readout, ODO, Speedo, Distance to empty, ETC ETC
2)I want my truck to work/function like stock
3)It'll illegal to mess with odometer readings on vehicles ^ as stated above
4)Because OVtune can... he's just trollin us for now.

FIY with 35" tires My speedo reads 60MPH when I am really going 70...

@OVTune. Can you give us an estimated date of release for 1.02 and datalogging?

Looks like the top 3 things holding back tons more from buying the tune are:
    1. 87 tune
    2. speedo calibration
    3. s mode gear lock

I missed the part of this thread where people were requesting the s-mode gear lock. Any thoughts on that being potentially dangerous? Obviously no more so than a dumb driver behind the wheel of a 3-pedal, but there's some risk there.

Im sure there are some safety issues but if someone want this feature I willing to bet they will use it responsibly. Right now all it does is prevent upshifts. Should be called limit mode.
