already ordered the upgrade (dongle trade in).

very cool, custom tune to go with my custom exhaust.

 

We were not hiding this information I promise, we received this information yesterday. end of October is a place holder, it will be out before then.

you send us logs, we send you a new tune package with updated tunes. You load it to the handheld.

For anyone who wants serious custom tuning with many revisions we do still recommend using our regular flash kit.

 

Just to be clear, the handheld unit is basically just so you don't need to carry a laptop? Anything I'm missing here? (dongle user)

Any update on the M/T? Seems to be little to no response regarding this.

 

MT 1.05 is actively being worked on. Everyone tested has been asked to stay silent on the forums as to not cause any craziness.


The handheld (with base 1.05 maps) are for people who either don't have a computer at all, or don't want to use their computer to flash. Also for keeping it in your truck or however you like.

 

That is my plan. Ive got a tired old laptop that i hate keeping charged, updated, and with me on trips. This handheld will replace that laptop for me. One less thing to have to bust out when in the mountains and there is no 91/93 available.

 

I tried to think of the best way we could let people know that handhelds are now a real possibility on this platform while giving people the option to get one if they already have our kits. Obviously this was unexpected.
I know that many, many people requested handheld support, and for the longest time we thought it would be impossible.
I figure if we found out yesterday, but didn't make any option.. or release any information, then do so later and say "yea we found out a month ago" that would be terrible.

Hopefully we can make everyone happy with this new option. I appreciate everyone understanding!

 

just ordered the handheld for upgrade trade in for dongle users. my plan is to do a custom tune.... is this the correct way to get the custom tune done? that's the only reason I'm trying to get whatever is required. your website didn't make that totally clear how to go about it.

non custom tuning
Handheld tuner

custom tuning OPTION for handheld
- V3 cable logger (logging software, still flash by handheld)

Me too. Just received my OVtune lastnight. Was heading out the door to buy a new laptop when I read the handheld post. How do I go about swapping for the hand held? Order #3211

So basically if we have the dongle and cable then we're set for custom tunes? I wanted the handheld for ease of use but will just stick to tried and true.

 

Thanks for clearing that up .Just wanted to be sure I understood after reading about all the new possibilities.Good to know we can still get custom tunes,etc with what we have.

And can custom tuning add on be added at a later date if needed?

 

Correct, current kits are good to go for custom.

The handheld is a new option. Because the handheld cannot log, we can't offer a custom tune for it. So we offer the logger add on. (with logger add on we can custom tune on the handheld)
For people who have our current kits, they can order handheld hardware, that way they have a handheld tuner (if they want one, totally optional), as many people requested for one.

In the end if you have either kit: Handheld + logger or original kit + handheld you both have the same thing.

That way it is TOTALLY OPTIONAL and nobody is missing out on anything.
