Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

The new flash manager has not been released yet so matt has to send u old tune or u need to wait for 1.05 release with new flash manager

 

I've followed the directions to a T. This is where it brought me. And yes I tried the download zip. Nothing there.

 

Also could be windows defender.

 

I thought that to. I turned it off and followed instructions again.

 

Has ovtune sent u a registration id and the files... if not then you r jumping ahead

 

Regardless shouldn't he be able to download the flash manager on his computer? Whatever point he is at he is going to have to address the issue of why its not showing up for him.

 

Once again, these exact same issues have been covered numerous times. If you are having issues then you are missing something in the instructions... Read the instructions entirely multiple times before asking for help. Also, why not just email Mat with your questions since he is the one who provided the product?

Just FYI, I am an old dongle user and had never setup a dongle less setup until I helped a friend a couple of weeks ago. At no point did I just give up and cry for help. I stepped back, read the instructions, and continued on. Never had an issue I couldn't resolve simply by reading....

 

He should have downloaded the software from the instructions.
It won't have an update(I just did this).
He should then get a file on his desktop that has a win.rar icon(Mine did)... I extracted it and then it and clicked on pc5 or whatever and then sent in my system id

 

If he did the encryption key look up then he has flash manager he needs to unzip pcmflash. If he is unable to unzip pcmflash and defender live search is disabled then he should email ovtune at zendesk.

Did u right click the zip file and select unzip? Make c sure u save unzipped files somewhere easy to find

 

I read all posts since day one. I find it quite entertaining. Ive seen guys ask the question, get bitched at, then bitch at the next guy who ask. Its like a rite of passage to get yelled at so you can then yell.

Very few will argue against you. The same thing can be seen in the B/S/T. How can you know you want an item without at the VERY least reading all the posts in the thread from the OP?? Pretty easy thing to hit the left and right arrows in a post to see the person's next or previous post in the thread. I think it is a failing we share. Immediate satisfaction by someone else doing all the work for us seems to have become the norm.

There have been members banned for fluffing this thread, as well as others, so the mods are watching. They do allow us to stumble along and try to do right for ourselves and one another.

I for one, am exited to see the introduction of the hand held tuner and 1.05. I expect we will see a big influx of positive reviews with a few of the typical complaints that it does not to x or y and very few other than the complainer has a problem with or experienced whatever it is.

Of course, Toyota somehow made trucks in a way that each one has a unique way to do the same freaking thing. Dunno how they did but damn, they seem to have pulled it off somehow. This has been the cause of a good amount of the struggles @OVTune has had to deal with.

 

For some reason I'm not getting the file that should come up on the desktop.

 

So I took the terminal off the battery yesterday for like 20 minutes and when I reconnected and started up again I had a total different driving experience? Does that mean that there is still learning going on? We are hopefully so close to 5 that I won't try to reinstall the last tune, but it was several months before I felt like it got shitty so I don't think it was a problem with the tune not taking. I probably have maybe just around 10K on the tune? Anyone else have this?
