I'll do my best. let me take a look through the auto ECU and see if I can locate what we need

Legacy is just want I call it because it is old / out-dated discontinued electronics

It is a ECU mod people want to keep S-mode from shifting on it's own.

I was curious too as I've never used S mode. Thanks

Maybe release this with 1.02B so it doesn't delay release of 1.02

Okay so looks like the S mode gear lock is becoming a very popular request overnight.

Once we have it ready we will add it into anyone's tune as a free option :)

Hopefully you put in a disclaimer so guys aren't keeping it in 6th at 45 mph lugging at full throttle, detonating the ringlands right off their pistons. The things people will do :-/

@OVTune Will there be safeties put in place? Like can not select 1st at 50 MPH. Cars that I have drove with the locked gear mode still would not let you select a gear that would exceed redline.

Question for anyone who uses a Mac (to load the tune - this IS on topic...). What's the cheapest way for me to get windows running in a virtual machine / parallels on my Mac? Prefer not to pick up yet another PC but buying the cheap refurb may be the only sensible option. Still, I always have my Mac with me in the truck... convenience + cost wins.

    Working on it.
Virtual box is also another option it is free but not as user friendly as VMware. If you can google it you can find plenty of good instructions on VB.

I've used windows under Parallels with the EcuTek software to reflash my FR-S ecu without any issues. I hope it will be the same with this. Since you asked about the cheapest way, I think you could get a trial license for Parallels/VMWare, with a windows 10 trial VM, and use that until you find a more permanent solution.

    This.

One thing to watch is sometimes the trials of Virtual Machine software will disable little things like USB, Printing etc....

has anyone done any offroading yet using 4Lo/Hi and/or Crawl with the tune loaded as of yet? Curious how the 1.01 fares in those situations. I know it isn't tuned to do a ton to the low-end, but that is one of my issues in 4WD today (Hi or Lo) is that it often feels like I need to punch it or go reaaaaally slow chugging along. No middle ground.

Hmm good question, I don't recall much (if any) feedback WRT off road performance with the tune. Some questions were asked a while back, such as:

    1. Can the decel fuel cutoff be changed so that the fuel comes back on at a RPM closer to idle. This would help with the inconsistent engine braking, especially in 4lo.

    2. Is the engine actually in Atkinson mode at low RPM with light load - answer was yes from OVtune IIRC. I'd like to see what happens if Otto (or closer to Otto) is forced under these conditions to improve low speed response.

Oh, and WTH is causing the engine to fall flat on it's face when you punch the throttle from a dead stop. I've seen a report that the engine still does this even with the tune. I've owned another vehicle with a 2GR (2GR-FE), and it NEVER did this.
