thats cause it wasnt meant to go offroad, you broke the rules. Its meant for dumping money into, like an ecu tune.

I'm not too far from SOS Concepts in SC, so I'm starting on a full compliment of parts from them. Starting with the sliders. My skid is still in pretty good shape.

I love their sliders. They keep my truck safe in all the parking lots I travel through.

I went with Avid Off-road sliders and they've been excellent.

I'm going with SOS because I want frame mounted sliders and they have the option for fill plates to make steps for my kids. I'm tired of picking them up into the truck...

AOR has the same options. They're just not on their website for some weird reason. The ones on their site are body mounted, but if you call/email, you can order frame mounted sliders with kickout and top plates and powdercoat  and they're cheaper than the competition. I've had my truck's full weight on them and they're just fine. The only difference between competitor options is they only do HREW while others do DOM, but DOM is overkill for over 95% of people going wheeling and crawling

What about BAMF sliders? I run their bolt on and they are really nice with a very tough coating...technically someone should start a slider thread for this

Posting here now as I feel the OVTune review section is outdated since the latest Toyota TSB 0058/62 and 1.04 R . New poll should be started after 1.05 comes out . @bshammer0 get ready !
update on 1.04R 87 octane, My friend will not post anything online anywhere, not quite a tin hat wearer but close lol.
My friend had been running 1.04 - 87 octane (stock truck)for over 1000 miles and was happy with it . He then had the 0058 TSB done and drove it for 500 miles and liked it as well but mpg went down about 1 to 2 mpg.
On my friends truck , running the stock tune with the TBS applied ,he or I could not tell much difference between the TSB stock tune and when he had the 1.04 tune as the new TSB is pretty darn good .

Now to the point , we installed 1.04R 87 on his truck and he drove it for about 1100 miles now and is completely satisfied . It shifts great and just drops 1 gear (or maybe just locks or unlocks the TQ ?) when going up small hills and it does it very cleanly and it seems normal if not using cruise control . No screaming or high rpms . It uses the 2500 to 3500 rpm for hills when driving normally . Best part was he got the 2 mpg back .
At this time he ,like everybody else , is waiting for 1.05 , but is very hesitant on trying it unless there are really great reviews on it and they do not change over time .

I get it for custom tunes for mods , and users that want to run higher octane fuel that 1.05 may be much better . If the newer exhaust systems being mentioned on TW along with custom tunes show a really big increase in torque and hp it will be very tempting to get them .
For 87 octane users , we do not see what else can be achieved . It shifts great , runs smooth with no stuttering , gets better mpg and seems to have a bit more low end grunt . I guess that if it can get even better mpg without doing any harm , and more low end it will be awesome but it is a pretty high bar as it is . It is still a short stroke high revving engine that was never designed for low rpm torque.
Will be watching to see what happens with the new equal length exhaust systems and a custom tune can do with 87 octane !
Anyone that is on the fence on this for even just running 87 octane fuel , do it ! After you flash a time or 2 , it gets very easy to do , even if there is a "learning" going on , you can flash back to the start. Disconnecting the battery only resets the short term memory from what I remember , the ecu has to be reflashed to erase all learning .
PS we still like having the Shift sense pro v2 installed as a option for really hilly areas and towing . it is just more options for controlling the shifting along with the 1.04R tune.
