Definitely better with the tune. Probably 1-2 mpg for me and more consistent. Towing is a 2-3 mpg improvement as well

You’re giving it two short test drives to make a decision on selling your truck..?

Id recommend that you give it a few tanks with 91+ octane. Perhaps try 1.05 for a few tanks as well.

Maybe it’s just that you’ve already made your decision.

Yep. This is a bandaid for what toyota had put out. The first impressions are what I am sticking to now since last time it was said that "It will learn and shift better later"

    Wanted to follow up -
Anyone who did not receive their sys id registry today will tomorrow (developer is on vacation until 14th, he still sends us still but slower than normal)
we will be working on getting any pending tune kits (dongle-less) out by the end of this week

1.05 is pushing forward, and I will have a new version for feedback providers soon (this week).

Going as quickly as possible. Thanks everyone

Heck I can't imagine 1.05 if 1.04 is already this nice.

I'd have to find someone here that can do it. My dealer insists it's for automatics. I didn't, or will ever, buy my Tacoma from them, but they are local.

People have put the 2jz in the second gen, someone should hurry up and get that in the third gen

    Id prefer a Toyota v8 rather than a 2jz simply because it’s a truck

It was worth having when the dealer replaced a squeaky $1300 high pressure fuel pump no questions...amongst other things

:burnrubber: Really looking forward to more bottom end torque, my 2nd gen would roast the tires off the line and I had 285/75/17 Mud Terrains. This 3rd gen would barley chirp the stock tires when wet haha now I have 285/75/16's and burnouts feel impossible unless in dirt lol

I never thought I would complain about an abundance of traction but sometimes you need that low end power

Everyone hates on hybrids but it’s hard to argue with torque from zero. If it’s done right, it could be awesome.

Given how the third gen turned out, I’m hesitant to believe it would be done right.

and this is the rub Mat is fighting with his tune to make it right. My truck is bone stock and I have the exact opposite when pulling away from a dead stop. Im spinning if I don't ease into it. Same truck two very different experiences
